“Let down”
Reviewed 10 November 2013

First impressions when you arrive cant be faulted, then you enter your room which can only be described as a not very roomy and the décor had seen better days. The bathroom/toilet was smaller than small ( my partner and I are not large people!!) and it was a tight squeeze to use the toilet. The floor got soaked using the shower. On a plus side the breakfast was lovely and the hotel is situated very close to the underground.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The hotel is close to the tube station High Street Kensington so this distance to central London is not a problem.

The hotel has a nice lobby with a bar. The breakfast area is also spacious so there is not a problem to get a table. The breakfast is standard english hotel breakfastfood.

Some of the rooms are tiny. The room standard varies. Some bathrooms could do some better finish but overall it is okey.

Just returned from what was meant to be relaxing spa break at this hotel. Booked a few months ago directly with hotel and was assured it would meet our needs. We had asked for triple room, use of spa facilities and facials the next day. We got tiny twin room that was shabby round the edges and in which they reckoned a third bed would fit, we complained and were moved to a larger twin. The third bed they provided was a camp bed! Given that we paid nearly £300 for one night we felt this was taking liberties. We went to the spa which cost another £8 per person for the use of pool, jacuzzi and sauna. We arrived for our facials this morning to find only 1 beautician working instead of the advertised two so cancelled. All in all a huge disappointment

Room Tip: Dont stay here

The Hotel doesn't have any rooms with 3 separate beds. When such a request is made, we do advise guests that a roll-away bed will be put in place for the third person. Please do accept my apologies however for the inconvenience when going to the Spa for the facial treatments.

The location of this hotel and it's first impressions as you arrive can't be faulted. When we tried to gain access to our room the key cards didn't work. Only after several attempts did we gain access. We then got into the room which was tiny, but clean. My friend wanted to use the pool but was told on arrival that it was £8! When she asked if she could then use the pool the next day as we ere staying overnight she was told no it was £8 every time she wanted to use the facilities. Wifi should be free for residents in a hotel not £9.95 for 24 hours!

The water in the bath is scolding hot and there was no cold running water in the bath at all. Even on the cold setting it was warm. There should at least be a sign in the bathroom warning of scolding water. The water pressure is appalling.

We put our room service breakfast order on our door as instructed at 6:30pm the evening before only to find it still hanging there and no breakfast the following morning. I called down to complain to the duty manager who kindly offered us a free breakfast in the dining room. We were really looking forward to breakfast in bed (a rare luxury) so very disappointed.

That said, I would use this hotel again as the staff were really friendly and helpful, the location is superb and the decor lovely. It's just not quite there for 4 stars in my opinion.

It is through such communication that we are given an opportunity to evaluate our performance, and focus on the areas that need to be addressed, ensuring we deliver the standard of service that our guests have come to expect from us. It is clearly stated on our website that the WiFi is chargeable so potential customers can make an informed decision before booking with us. This is common in most London hotels and in fact our prices are considerably lower compared to our similar properties. I would also like to take this opportunity to apologise for your Room Service order not being collected overnight. I was relieved to hear though that the Duty Manager offered you breakfast in our main Restaurant as a gesture of goodwill.

Stayed in this hotel for 4 nights during a business trip to London. Since the room rates in the very central London are usually very expensive, this hotel offers a room under 100 pounds with a 2 min walk to the tube! Being close to the tube is the most important issue in London.

Some of the rooms are extremely small. I have not stayed in such a small room ever before, even in Tokio. However, some of the rooms are renovated and larger. Be sure to check with the reception before booking.

The rooms were clean and well maintained. There is charged wifi available in the rooms. Unfortunately, GSM coverage is not very good in the hotel and you can not get a proper 3G signal to connect internet.

The breakfast doesn't offer a wide variety of choices but tasty. Try the sausages. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Ask for the "renovated rooms" which are twice the size of the old ones.

Dear Cantikiroglu,

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. With regards to the size of our rooms, we do offer a variety of room types with different sizes and styles to accommodate the tastes and budgets of different guests. If space is so important to you, may I suggest in the future that you book one of our Executive Club Rooms or Suites where you may feel more comfortable.

This location was ideal for us. The hotel is a five minute walk away from the underground station which takes you into the centre of London in about 20 minutes. This meant you are staying in a nice part of London, that is safe and quaint. I would stay here again. The rooms were small, but they warn you of that. It has everything you need.

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon when we were in London and the hotel was below average. The lobby is beautiful and clean but the room we stayed in was old and felt dirty! We were so excited when we walked into the lobby because it was one of the nicest ones that we seen on our trip but then we got to our room and it was so small (we expected it tho) but the worst was the bathroom. It was old and rusty. The toilet didn't flush properly and the shower curtain wouldn't go around the tub. So every time we took a shower it was like a rain storm went through the bathroom because the floor would be so wait. We also went down to the bar and lounge area to eat a late night snack and service was pretty slow probably because there were only 2 cocktail waitresses and every table was full. Some of the good things about this property though was they had more than enough staffing at breakfast and they were all very polite and helpful. Front desk staff was also friendly as well. Great location because we were nearby the Tube, shops and many restaurants.
