Stayed here on business. Easy access to the underground literally just around the corner.

The room was good, had all the little things you'd expect from a hotel in this location. I just had a standard room and still had a good view over the city.

Access to the restaurant is a little confusing, but once you know where you're going it's ok. Had a nice dinner here - good service. They offer free wi-fi in public areas but I few people seemed to be having difficulties with it. Breakfast was good.

I left my bags with the concierge for the day and it was a very easy and painless process. I'd stay here again.

Stayed at the Lancaster for a week mixing business and pleasure. Lancaster claims to be a four star hotel, which it looks like when you check in and take in the public areas of the hotel. Location is good, you can catch the central line tube next to the hotel and get to all the sights and shopping in 10 minutes. Hyde Park is at your doorstep and if, like us, you use a car to explore areas outside London, you are outside the congestion charge zone and within easy reach of main arteries out of London.
All of the above is slightly marred by the rooms. They are very worn and some of them also small. We tried two rooms during our stay (A/C broke in the first one). First room was small but with an impressive view over Hyde Park and London. Second room was much larger on a lower floor. Less view but more room. Both very very worn but tidy and bathrooms were clean. Amenities in the bathrooms are more three star than four, for those who care, e.g. no hand/body lotion, no cotton buds.
Breakfast was alright, but nothing spectacular. Service is slow and left without my hot drink on two mornings as had finished eating and got tired of waiting.
Staff, in general, are ver helpful and accommodating. E.g. dealing with the broken A/C unit was no hassle at all. As it could not be fixed, we were given another room. No quibble, no long faces, just an offer to have someone come and move the suitcases.
Overall a nice, but worn hotel, teetering on the edge of being a four star, but in London things are different. Would choose another property next time myself.

A friend and I spent four nights at the Lancaster London Hotel in late March of this year. We both felt it was an excellent choice for us. We especially enjoyed the location next to Hyde Park, and the fact that there was an underground station (Lancaster Gate) at the hotel itself was truly wonderful. We rode the underground a lot during our daily excursions, and it was always nice to know that when we got to our final underground station we were actually where we wanted to be and didn't have to walk further.
The hotel in general and our room itself were clean and comfortable and well-kept and the staff were all pleasant and helpful in every way, from registration, on through the stay and ending with our check-out.
We ate breakfast each morning at the Island Grill in the hotel and had a couple of evening meals there as well. My friend and I both thought the food was both plentiful and excellent in every way, and it was convenient to be able to eat there when we wanted.
In conclusion, we would recommend the Lancaster London Hotel to anyone planning a trip to London! Thanks to the staff who made our stay so wonderful!

Room Tip: I am sure all of the views are nice, but a park view room (overlooking Hyde Park( is probably nicest...

Stayed there with a friend for a long weekend. Got a great deal (directly with hotel) which included breakfast. Staff very helpful. Checked in early and our room was ready which was great. Room was one of the renovated ones and was very good size and very roomy considering its London.
Great location for tube and Oxford Street. Breakfast was very good with plenty of food. We ate in the Thai restuaruant on the first night. It was okay but very expensive. I'd recommend eating out if you're staying there.

Overall I'd recommend this hotel for its location and comfort.

We spent 10 days at the Lancaster London because our favorite hotel was booked. Overall it was an excellent experience, with a couple of glaring exceptions that really turned us off. First, the good: Our room was clean, bright (small), very comfortable. Great view of Hyde Park and the London skyline. The staff were wonderful; universally friendly and helpful (which is not the norm in London). We had one maintenance problem; it was fixed 5 minutes after calling.

The bad: We got a discounted price through hotels.com but it did not include breakfast. The buffet breakfast at £18 (including tip) was not worth it, and for 2 it raised the price to higher than the rack rate with breakfast. And there aren't a lot of choices nearby for an early meal. We discovered, however, that the ala carte breakfast was actually better than the buffet and less expensive.

The really bad: Internet is £17 PER DAY! This is truly outrageous, and for this reason alone we will avoid this property in the future. We had a workaround - we bought a cellular USB stick for £25 that gave us all the Internet we needed. But REALLY! £17 for something that costs the hotel practically nothing.

Our stay at the Lancaster London was excellent. We would definitely stay there again.
Service - Absolutely amazing. All staff including doormen, concierge, receptionists and business centre personnel were friendly, efficient, polite and very willing to help make our stay as comfortable as possible.
Room - We had a Superior twin room (lowest grade) facing towards the park. It was small, definitely not luxurious, but it had all the amenities one needs. It was always spotlessly cleaned. Fresh towels and bathroom supplies were constantly replenished. It was also perfectly soundproofed. We heard no traffic noise.
Food - We did not take the buffet breakfast but we did eat a la carte breakfast and dinner at the Island Grill bistro. Here again the service was impeccable and the food superb. We felt it was very reasonably priced.
Location - The location is brilliant. It is a 10 minute walk to Marble Arch and also to Paddington station for the Heathrow express. Beautiful Hyde Park is directly opposite the hotel. The Lancaster Gate tube station is a minute's walk and many buses to all parts of the city can be caught right outside the hotel. Close to the hotel there are many little pubs and restaurants. Our favourite was the delightful little cafe,The Bathurst Cafe, just across from the hotel. We had breakfast there almost every day and often a predinner glass of wine. It was a charming, homey, comfortable place. We really appreciated the wonderful service both from the owner and the girls who work there.
Staying at the Lancaster London added a great deal to making our trip to London so great.

Room Tip: Higher floors have better views either over Hyde Park or the city
