“Not that there's anything wrong with it”
Reviewed 13 June 2013

This is a perfectly decent hotel without anything glaringly wrong with it. The location is excellent being a one minute walk to the Lancaster Gate tube stop and a five minute walk to Paddington Station. The proximity to Paddington Station allows you to take the Heathrow Express train from the airport practically to your front door. My room was a decent size with a king size bed. It was very clean with minimal wear and tear. The bathroom is an adequate size with an excellent shower. I had a fabulous view of Hyde Park along with the city itself. The hotel breakfast buffet is quite good. The housekeeping staff did a very good job. On the less impressive side, the bed itself was too hard for my liking. The front desk staff seemed to struggle with the English language. And although I paid extra to guarantee an early check-in (10 a.m.), my room was still not ready when I got there. However, after I made a point of it, I got a room within 30 minutes. Although there is nothing fancy about it, overall I had a decent experience at the Lancaster London. I would stay there again and recommend it to others.

We stayed here for 5 nights and I can honestly say it was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. It's located right on the edge of beautiful Hyde Park. You're a short tube ride away from the heart of the city. The hotel itself is lavish and so comfortable. The rooms are spacious and beautifully furnished. Very modern. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive and the two restaurants inside the hotel are both exceptional. This hotel made a great trip to London even better. Stay here!

Room Tip: Get a room facing Big Ben and the Eye! Its a beautiful cityscape.

We stayed just the one night and everything was fine for our needs. We had a room on the 13th floor, small but adequate and clean. The staff were all very pleasant and welcoming. Good location with Hyde Park opposite, lovely views from room. We would stay here again if overnighting in central London.

The location of the hotel is tube friendly, but the room was dated ,the bath was dark(green hotel),the staff was distant .We had a room on the seventh floor with crap views of a roof and car park. You do have nice views from higher rooms facing the park or city, and you will pay extra for this. The room is of average size, but a bit dingy. You may consider the Elizabeth Hotel across the street, and they include breakfast.

It is a shame that you did not enjoy your stay with us. We are working on a renovation plan to roll out as soon as possible for all of our rooms – this is taking time because we want to make sure that the new rooms are going to be absolutely perfect. But we are sure that everyone will be blown away when we do unveil them!

I was asked to pay extra charges if I wanted an early checkin. I completely understand they are allowed to do whatever they want since the official checkin is at 2pm but this extra little step would have made a positive impression on me especially considering I paid about 280eur per night. The room was clean however a bit outdated. Breakwast were too plain for the price (additional appx. 13 pound). there is no free internet which is really a downside to this whole thing, somebody should wake up and see what's standard in other hotels of this price category. Overall my impression is a good one, however they should really work on service quality.

We are sorry that you felt that you did not receive the service levels that you were expecting. We are currently looking at improving our breakfast value through new menu items and more variety – if you come back again, we are sure you will see these in action. The Business Centre offers free internet to guests on computers that are provided – these are perfect for printing a boarding pass or checking emails quickly. Thank you for writing about us and we hope that you will come and try out our new breakfast next time.

I stayed in the Lancaster London hotel with my wife for 7 nights from 30 May to 6 June 2013. We were very pleased with the hotel in general. The room was more specious than the usual room sizes in London. The bathroom was also of good size. Generally the room was clean. The location was perfect. On the down side, I faced a silly human mistake from the front desk that blocked my credit card and I had to call the hotel long distance from Canada to clear it. Also, you pay for the internet connection which is silly since you pay almost +$220 a night. The hotel is adopting strict energy and water saving regimes which are sometimes silly. For example, the house keeping personnel were switching off the AC every time they do the room though the temperature was high outside.

Room Tip: Choose a city view room but on high level (14 or more) to avoid noise from traffic and still have ni...

I stayed at the hotel with my wife, brother and sister in law. This coincided with my sister in law's birthday. I notified the hotel in advance of this and they upgraded her room and presented her with a birthday cake to mark the occasion. All the party were delighted with what had been arranged. I have used the hotel numerous times previously and always found the staff very professional, friendly and obliging. The hotel is idealy situated for shopping in Oxford Street or a stroll through Hyde Park.

Room Tip: The higher the room the better the view.
