“Not bad for one night”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 April 2014

Stayed here for one night whilst in London on business.

Clearly, hobbits normally stay at the hotel as the room was way too small (classed as a double) with little teeny tiny tables and wee bedroom furniture. Being a bit bigger than a gnome, I found the room a bit claustrophobic.

The bathroom was of a similar size, the toilet was pretty much in the shower, whilst I'm all for multi-tasking having a shower whilst dropping the kids off at the pool is a bit much. The glazing on the windows isn't very good either which means at night you can pretty much hear everything going on outside your window.

On the positive side, everything was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful, though none of them could work out why the room I had didn't get any wifi signal.

I wouldn't want to stay here again, though I suspect that is just me as I can see it appealing to anyone who wants a clean, comfortable cheap base to explore London from.

Room Tip: Try to get one at back of the hotel, might be a bit quiter

I can highly recommend the Ambassadors Hotel. I stayed here on my own for two nights and the Friendly and helpful staff made me feel very welcome. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The only drawback is the limited storage space but it was adequate for my short stay. The breakfast was excellent too. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: The main road outside generates a lot of traffic noise so if you're after peace and quiet a room...

We enjoyed afternoon tea at number twelve at the ambassador on a Wednesday afternoon.warm and friendly greeting followed by being seated at a nice table by the window. The staff were excellent and courteous. The selection of sandwiches and cakes were good as was the tea/ coffee. The scones did not look very appetising but were actually nice and tasty but the quality of the strawberry jam needs improving
Overall a good experience and by using a wowcher offer good value for money. Worth a visit

Stayed one night with a friend to enjoy a night out in London. The rooms are small but were clean, comfortable and certainly sufficient for a one night stay. The proximity of the hotel to Euston Station was excellent and a 5 minute walk to Russell Square tube station gets you to on the Piccadilly Line and a couple of stops to Covent Garden and then Leicester Square. We did not have meals in the hotel so cannot comment on the food. Our only very small gripe was that we had requested a twin room and were given a double; that said we did check-in early and twin beds in the room we had would have been a little too cramped I think.

Room Tip: There is only one lift so if you are on one of the upper floors there can be a fairly long wait...lo...

The location is excellent - very convenient to transport. The staff on reception were good. The room was smallish and the bathroom very small with a shower rather than a bath. Closet space is minimal. The toilet door is a smoked glass so that vague shapes are visible on the other side. You want to be comfortable with the other person if you are sharing a room.
The towels were lovely and there is a heated towel rack. The beds were very nice and the room had comfortable chairs.
The room has black out blinds and Venetian blinds and it still was lighter than I prefer. The hotel fronts to a busy road, so if noise bothers you or you want to sleep late, request a room off the front.
The room appeared to be very clean but there were small things that were overlooked, the sort of things that are a sign that a particular room cleaner missed things rather than an endemic problem.
I would definitely stay again, as long as it was for one night, any longer and the size of the room would get annoying.

This hotel is just opposite Euston station - a really convenient location from which you can easily walk to the British Museum, or Oxford Street.

Positives: very friendly reception staff, a good buffet breakfast with hot food cooked to order (proper mushrooms, well poached eggs, decent bacon), windows that open

Negatives - rather shabby (the tables in the breakfast room were all chipped, the shower looked as if it needed re-grouting, for example), not very clean (hair in the shower, a line of dirt on the floor alongside the breakfast server, and the carpet at breakfast had clearly not been cleaned since the night before), lumpy double bed (which felt like two singles with a double sheet over them), impossible to shower without getting the whole of the bathroom floor wet.

To improve, please address the comments above, check that everything in each room is in good working order, and put a shelf in the bathroom for a washbag. I actually didn't have an issue with the small hanging area for clothes - it was big enough for one person for a few nights, but I could see that it might be more difficult in the winter or for two people.

Stayed recently at this hotel, and there was a delay in check-in. Room small, but bed comfortable. Be warned there is no ironing facilities in this hotel. Bathroom wasn't large. Breakfast was ample, but just lacked certain things, and the ceiling was also leaking. The hilton across the road is superior in my opinion.
