Stayed here as a group of 6, location is fantastic right near Marble Arch and a stones trow from Oxford Street. Rooms are bright and airy, reception lobby is large with unusual statues and colour changing lights. Would definately recomend a stay here. We booked it through lastminute.com and got it cheap.

Stayed at this hotel last weekend and had a wonderful time, the service was excellent from check in to check out we had a room on the first floor and I must say I was a bit worried after reading comments about the noise from the night club we didn't hear anything from the night club, you do get some noise but that is what you would expect in any capital city we ahve stayed in the Savoy & Hilton on Park Lane and I would say this is a very good 4* hotel

This is the 4th time we have stayed at this hotel as its location is fantastic. You are near to the tube station plus Oxford Road(Shopping) plus Hyde park across the road. On this visit we asked for a quiet room as our previous 3 visits have either been near a lift(constant dinging all night) or near the housekeepers room(7:00 really noisey). We were asked if we wanted to move to the Executive wing which is a seperate building to the main hotel but only 50 yards down the road, which we accepted. Upon arrival in our king size room we noticed that we were situated next to the cleaners room plus a bit noisey outside due to the taxi rank being right below us. Overall stay was good, only draw back was shower did not drain properly and the lcd tv had a colour problem which could not be rectified by me.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and after reading some bad reviews i was getting worried. I didnt need to be at all!

Arrived in the reception at 11:30 thinking it would be way to early to check in (Only waiting a few miutes not hours like other people say) The really nice lady checked us in and directed us to the lifts to our room. Yes the rooms are quite small if your not in a suite, but they have made the most of the size and they are spotlessly clean. We stayed on the 4th Floor no noise!. Not a good view at all, thats probably the only bad point but i didnt go to london to stare out of my hotel window!

The location of this hotel is perfect. Just at the end of oxford street near primark, 30 seconds walk to marble arch tube station and marble arch itself is just over the road, where you can get the open top tour buses from!Brilliant for sight seeing. Would recomend the hop-on hop-off 24 hour one.

The breakfast has so much choice and is gorgeous. I can understand wat people were saying about it being canteen like as its so large and there are alot of people. But the food is NOT canteen like.

I got this hotel as a package deal through superbreaks and got it alot cheaper than what the prices actually are but next time i go to london i would pay full price to stay there again.

We booked this hotel very last minute when we arrived at Heathrow airport. As my new wife and I had just arrived back from being married in Mexico we decided that at £210.00 a night we would treat ourselves to a Hotel which would normally be out of our price range.

It is obvious that the Hotel has had great expense spent on its refurbishment and as a result does have the 'wow factor'. However, the decor can seem a little cold/ harsh which would definitely place more significance on the warmth of staff. We were courteously greeted and things looked hopeful when we were given a complimentary upgrade to a deluxe room - which apparently included free movies and free wifi (to our dismay we were to find out later that only our room had been upgraded). Upon arriving at the room, we were very disappointed to note the size and also the view- a very small and staff smoking area!!-not what you would expect from a Deluxe King size room.

We were never made to feel welcome in the Hotel at any point during our stay; which was the most disappointing factor. Plenty of staff floating about is only a good thing if they know how to talk to guests and anticipate needs. On three occasions we tried to have the milk pots in our room replaced only to be told to go back to the main hotel ( we had been put into the 2nd block which is up the road). We called the main hotel and were then told to contact housekeeping, housekeeping then passed us to the bar until i got annoyed and spoke to the guy on our own reception. A half hour later we got our milk, a disgruntled smile and no apology.

On a more serious note i accidentally locked both keys in our room. When i came down to speak to reception i was told that again, i had to go to main reception and that no one was available to let me in. When i questioned the guy covering the reception desk what would happen in the event of a fire in a room and why there wasn't a master key available, he shrugged his shoulders and gave the excuse 'i am just covering this desk'.

I work in a 4 star hotel which is just undergoing accreditation for its 5th star and know how important good/ excellent service can be in defusing someone like me leaving with a negative view of a property. If only they had at least one person there who knew how to commit to their job role this review would have been different.

If this hadn't been such a special occasion for us then we would have still been disappointed that a hotel that reads aswell as it does on paper should come to fruition in real life!!!!NEVER will I take my wife there again nor recommend it to friends or family.

Hi,

I really appreciate the services of the hotel fron staff as well as the back end staff. They were very helpful and courteous and always responded to our requirements. Was really surprised to see their excellent hospitality.
Moreover you cannot be at a better location than this right near the tube station and in the shopping area, right opposite PRIMARK.
The only concern is that the rooms were little small, as other hotels are in Europe.
But would surely recommend the hotel and would love to stay here again on my next visit.

Just returned from a two night stay at the Cumberland. Was a bit concerned after reading some very negative reviews of this hotel, but we had a really comfortable stay. Check in was prompt and the reception staff were very helpful. Okay, the rooms are on the small size, but clean and tidy with iron, ironing board, hairdryer, flat screen tv, lovely thick towels and complimentary toiletries. Breakfast is hectic, but the staff were friendly and coffee and tea in plentiful supply. The location of this hotel is superb for seeing all the sights, just 2 minutes from the tube station. One small complaint-where are the stairs if there was a fire???
