“Great location and reasonable value for money”
Reviewed 23 March 2014

Really close to Bayswater tube, and a short walk to Queensway tube, make this a very convenient place to stay.
The reception lobby and adjoining Bar are quite impressive and a good place to meet business contacts if you want to make a good impression.
My room was a single, quite small, basically furnished, and the decoration was a bit shabby but I wasn't intending to spend a lot of time in there so it was fine. The room had a small desk, wardrobe, safe, freeview TV, Tea/Coffee, and free wifi so everything I needed. The rooms are spread over what was clearly once two or more separate buildings, so the corridors can be a bit of a labyrinth with several fire doors and changes in level, so if you have mobility problems it would be worth asking for one that is easy to get to.
Staff were really friendly and helpful and if you have large bags I think they will take them to your room for you.
Overall very reasonable, a great location, and I would stay again if on a another business trip.

Room Tip: IF you have mobility problems then ask for a room near reception as the hotel occupies what was once...

Staying here for the second time. Came back after nice stay in double deluxe on first floor - refurbished bathrooms rest in nice condition, decent room size. Small misunderstanding about the fact that it was paid in advance by company was nothing what could not be sorted. (First they charged my card, but gave the money back in 1 day)
This time it's hard to accept.
Room on the (under)ground floor. One could find better wardrobe near the waste can, rest (especially bathtub) needs refurbishment. And worst thing - ventilators from a restaurant kitchen i suppose, next to the window making constant low-frequency noise, that might drive you mad.
In short: avoid room 034.
I've asked for an alternative, they proposed micro-room with wardrobe size bathroom.

Good part is complimentary wifi. and obviously location. Queensway is great multi-culti place. Haven't tried their 13 GBP breakfast, so many other opportunities around for less.

Room Tip: Avoid 034. Deluxe doubles on first floor are great

There is nothing good about this hotel other than its location. The rooms are old and dreary, the floors creak on just about every level of this hotel. The carpeting is old and dingy; people are allowed to smoke anywhere they please. Even directly in front of other guests' rooms where no smoking signs are clearly posted. If you happen to have the unfortunate coincidence of being given a room facing the street, bring your earplugs. The building is an 18th Century original and thus the windows cannot be upgraded. All the noise from the street passes through what passes for glass. And if you book through a third-party booking site, be prepared for a horrible, noisy, dirty room. The breakfast was decent at best. The staff are efficient at seating guests and cleaning up immediately after one has finished one's meal but they don't bother to tell guests that certain items on the breakfast menu have to be ordered. Such as eggs. They claim to have fresh fruit on the menu however it is nothing more than canned and packaged. You would be better off going around the corner to the local Tesco or Sainsbury's and buying fresh fruit. When I complained about the noise level in the room I was told "yah, sorry about that but because it's an old building, nothing can be changed."This is absolute rubbish-- there is a hostel directly across the street from this hotel with cleaner rooms and better soundproofing with two meals per day. Prior to checking in, I had requested a quiet room on a high floor, as is my custom. Upon check in I requested the same. The guest services representative who checked me in gave me a "quiet" room. Facing two passage doors, on the 4th floor, close to the creaking stairs, facing the street. The staff and the location are the only remedies to this nightmare of a hotel. Please don't waste your money. Plenty of other hotels at which you would be better suited. For the money this property charges, you can stay at the Hilton, and have a better breakfast included in the price. Even the Wifi was terribly slow. The televisions in the room are mini box styles with no cable; just standard BBC channels.

Room Tip: If you must waste your time at this hotel, please ask for a room not facing the street.

Ancient rooms, crappy 4:3 tv with faulty remote, unusably slow wifi and cracked sink. Bearable for an in-and-out business stop-over but I'd be gutted if I booked in on a holiday. Don't be too taken in by the reception area - the rest is stuck in 1983.

The Berjaya Eden Park is in a fantastic location in Bayswater, super close to the Bayswater and Queensway tube stops and all the shops and restaurants along Queensway. It's got a very cosy, English feel about it and is a more than decent option for the price you pay. It was really lovely to sit in the downstairs bar with an open fire going in the winter.
Pros: Good location, good price, decent sized room (for London standards), can book a single room.
Cons: Walls are quite thin, breakfast is average.

Room Tip: The deluxe rooms are much nicer than the classic rooms

After reading mixed reviews on trip advisor i must admit i was a little apprehensive about our stay at the Berjaya. I've always thought that some people have exceptionally high standards and ignore most bad reviews and this proved to be right in this case because we had a fantastic stay and couldn't recommend it higher.
After checking in we were told we had been given a free upgrade to a deluxe room and to be honest we were really impressed. The room is finished to a high standard, comfy bed, nice furnishings and it was spotless.
One of the main selling points of this this hotel is its location, literally a minutes walk from the tube station and a high street of shops including tesco, sainsburys, macds etc yet still manages to be on the quiet side with no traffic noise.
Also worth mentioning the bar as well, after watching the first half of a football match elsewhere we came back to the hotel to find the drinks much cheaper and staff polite and friendly.
My advise is to ignore any bad reviews, we were chuffed with the deal we got and thought it was great value for money. I genuinely would recommend this place to anybody and we will definitely be coming back.
