The location of the hotel is nice. Very close to bond-new bond-oxford streets. the hotel is very clean. I have stayed at the hotel for 4 days, 2 days in a standard room 2 days in an executive. The standard rooms are nicer than the exec. sutites. and exc suites is not worth the price. I was told to have the breakfast at the executive lounge which is really low quality as compared to the completely satisfying breakfast for the standard room guests at the hotels restaurant. Since I have been staying at the exec. suit, I was told to pay 10 pounds for regular breakfast (or to have free breakfast at the exec lounge on the 7th floor which was low quality). The ballroom of the hotel is very popular as I understand, since every night at the hotel was so crowded with good looking dressed people.

I didn't know this was supposed to be a fancy/special/luxurious hotel and to be honest, it felt like any 3-4 star hotel anywhere in the world.

We arrived at the hotel for a one-night stay with our guests. Having booked more than 5 rooms, with our company using more than 10, they weren't able to check us in! We had to wait for two hours. Also, the sauna was under renovation, and this was not mentioned on their web site when making the booking! To me, that's like leaving a mattrass on the floor and claiming they're replacing the beds...

The room had a small TV, although it was quite big for London. I had to get some toiletries and tried to find my friend at the same time, and the front staff seemed rather uninterested in their work, not just one of them. Maybe they had a bunch of trainees working the front during our stay. The doorman didn't even know that usually when there's a customer with large bags he holds up the door! Not once during our stay did he do that. The location was excellent though, and I would stay here again but overall but only if it's cheaper than all other 4-star hotels.

This is a super comfortable hotel. Our room was excellent as was the bathroom. The breakfast is exceptional, we've had a few buffet breakfasts in our time but this is really good, didn't need lunch.
All the staff we met were cheerful, friendly, and very helpful. They all seem to get on with each other too which gives the place a friendly atmosphere.
It is in a great location and the view from the lovely Green Room, where we had a wonderful (husband's birthday treat ) big tea is a joy, as was the live piano music.
Our only gripe is that we had to ask for a tea/coffee tray which was promptly delivered but with instant coffee!! Arrgghhh!!!! We asked if we could get some real coffee instead but were told it was only possible thru Room Service. I really think that if you're paying a deluxe price there should at least be some good coffee available. This was our only dissapointment though. Maybe the catering manager will read this and get some good coffee organised?

my husband and i stayed here to attend the publican awards 2011. as soon as we arrived they upgraded us to a deluxe suite (complimentary) which we didnt even ask for. we arrived there quite early so the room was not yet ready but they looked after our luggage and gave us a call as soon as the room was ready (which was still earlier than check-in times) the room was really nice, very clean and was provided with plenty of toiletries, slippers and dressing gown. the bed was very comfortable and everything was very clean.
we ate at the steak house which was nice and the waiters looked after us the whole time.
check out was 12 o clock so we even got a lie-in.

I live just outside London, but regularly stay here for shopping trips or meals out. It's a lovely 5 min walk through Hyde park to Harrods. Just far enough to be outside of the hustle and bustle so it isn't noisy, but within easy walking distance of excellent restaurants, bars, shops, tubes. The afternoon tea is lovely too. A dependable true 5 star hotel.

We stayed here 41 years ago for about 5 days, while on a business trip.

Great hotel. Marriott recently took it over. Probably for the better. Since we stayed this time there as part of a post-cruise package I'm not certain if we could afford to stay here again paying regular rates. But it was great.

Only negatives---No free newspaper, no free coffee except for the make your own in the room stuff, and very expensive internet with no free print your own boarding pass privledge anywhere.

We used to stay at the Grosvenor House before it was a JW Marriott. We just loved the place but stopped coming for years when they started a huge renovation. Although it certainly lost some of its cache, it is more american, the Hall Porter now is called a Concierge, it still is a beautiful hotel with very attentive staff and superb location. We had a nice one bedroom suite with access to the executive lounge. The staff there was very nice, specially Ai. I will surely return to the Grosvenor House and recommend it to others but it would be nice if they installed free WIFI access in the rooms.
