Second time staying at this hotel and still love it. Very traditional and elegant hotel, comfy beds, large room. Staff all were very nice to deal with, including those in the business center. Great location, easy walk to the stores on Oxford Street, but hotel itself actually in quiet location. No noise from hallway or outside (we had a courtyard room, top floor, with view of Hyde Park). Rooms made up the moment you left in the morning, and turndown at night was most welcome. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Another late review but this one was five stars no doubt about it.

The on site steakhouse is first rate. The manager came to say hello, we started speaking italian and then it was espresso corretto on the house.

Great location for seeing the City. In Rome go for local charm, in London go for elegance.

We were here in August while the Royal family was away so we got to tour the palace. Too cool.

Go for the club floor where you have complimentary breakfast, evening snacks and cocktails, and free wifi for the teens. Worth the extra.

I managed to book a good rate for this hotel, booking a standard room for ~£80 less than normal rate. Upon arrival our room had been upgraded to a park view suite, the room was very spacious with a separate lounge, bedroom and bathroom and had good views.

We ordered afternoon tea in our room, which arrived promptly. Reception staff were excellent, friendly and very helpful. I was meeting colleagues in the bar and unfortunately the bar staff aren't as friendly as the other staff we encountered. The bar was busy as there was an award ceremony there that evening, nevertheless the staff appeared surly and service was a big effort for them and in their time not yours.

We were attending the awards ceremony, so didn't eat in the restaurants, however the food at the ceremony was excellent, so I can only assume the food in general in the hotel was good.

Breakfast was ok, nothing special.

The hotel is situated very close to Oxford Street so excellent if you are planning some shopping.

Please note WIFI at the hotel is chargeable.

Three couples stayed December 17, 2011 at the beginning of our Christmas trip, then ended by staying 2 more nights, the 24th and 25th. All 3 nights were truly first class - Marriott at its best. Elegant, very well equipped rooms, serviced by friendly, courteous staff - not stuffy, just perfectly attentive. Located on Park Lane across from Hyde Park, a couple of short blocks south of Oxford Street shopping and a few minutes walk north of Harrods. Great in-house, as well as local area restaurants. Very surprised, on Christmas morning, to find a full size red stocking on our door knob, with large, chocolate Santa Claus, white chocolate snowman, and a large, mixed bag of nuts and dried fruit! Excellent rates for London hotel, whether using the cancelable "senior" rate of 169 pounds, or the pre-paid internet rate of 159 pounds. One of the best hotels in one of the best locations in one of the best cities in Europe! Go if you can.

Room Tip: all rooms should be quiet, as the building is older, but very well maintained. Our rooms tended to...
