I visited yesterday the Grosvenor House for afternoon tea to celebrate my mum's birthday and couldn't have been a better experience. The atmosphere was excellent with a beautiful view to Hyde park, the room is cozy and intimate. The service was impeccable from the manager and hostess to the waiters, very attentive and friendly. The scones are superb, plenty of choices for tea, and the staff is always filling up with more food. In the end it couldn't be a better surprise when the staff presented a birthday cake together with the piano playing. It was definitely a day for all of us to remember.
There are a few places in London where you can find a perfect and traditional afternoon tea, and one of them is the afternoon tea of Grosvenor House. I would definitely recommend it.

The JW Marriott Grosvenor House is beautiful! The entire hotel is well appointed and the rooms are spacious. It's always important to have a comfortable bed and ours did not disappoint! The staff were very accommodating and made our stay a true delight. Make no mistake about it, this hotel is a fine place to stay while in London.

Back again and not let down. Staff from first to last were excellent. Special experience at a decent price for London. Great room on executive floor well worth the little extra. Well located just off Oxford St, Hyde Park and many great restaurants.

Room Tip: Executive rooms on 7th floor are the best!

Stayed for 1 night on 26/02/2013, on business. The checkin, staff and accommodation were excellent. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to friends and colleagues.

The atmosphere, cleanliness of the public areas is fantastic! All staff look smart and content in their work.

I stayed on the 7th floor facing inwards. View not great however given I was in the room no time at all this was not a problem whatsoever.

Overall, it's a great hotel. Really well located, with Oxford Street shopping district just a few blocks away. We stayed in a Luxury Suite, wich is nice, but small. Even for a suite it is kinda small. Bathroom is just ok, with the old tub and plastic curtains combination ...
If you can, book a room with access to the Executive Room. They will provide you 03 meals a day along with all kinds of drinks and wi-fi.
The hotel service is just great. Everything went on perfectly.
Would stay again.

I stay here twice a year and just love it's big comfortable rooms and service . The position of the hotel is perfect for shopping and the wonderful local restaurants .

Would not hesitate in suggesting a stay.

I had pre booked for afternoon tea as a birthday treat for a friend. We'd been to the hotel for tea a year before and loved it, but this time the standard was not so good. We were seated nearer the bar and away from the main afternoon tea area, and this seemed to resolve in patchy service as most of the waiting staff seemed to focus on the central area. The dragon fruit cocktail to start with was refreshing and we were offered more of anything we wanted. But the sandwiches tasted a little dried out, as if made in advance. The scones were cold and rather than being brought a new pot of tea the waiting staff simply kept adding hot water. We had to wait ages at the end for the waiting staff to notice us and bring the bill, and finally when they did they took my card away while they went to get the electronic card machine (thought the idea) was that these machines eliminated the need to separate owner from card. Despite already adding a 12.5 percent service charge (which I know is acceptable), I was asked twice by the waiter if I wanted to leave a further tip. I didn't. The service was just about okay, but not exceptional. Overall, didn't think the tea or the ambience was as good as others I've been to in good London hotels, so a bit disappointed really.
