I usually find the Novotel chain consistently good value but was disappointed by the stay at this location.

The check in staff were friendly but for some reason the process took quite some time to complete, even though I had booked online and am an A Club member. There did not seem to be any reason for the delay.

The room was spacious and though a little gloomy but overly hot and despite turning the temperature to zero and openning the window – we never managed to get the room to cool. The bathroom sink was rather 'scummy' and when the room was cleaned there was no replensishment of tea nor toilet paper. Housekeeping needs to be reviewed here.

On our final night we ordered a two pannini's from room service – both were the most disguting we have ever had. The were clearly out of a packet and microwaved and totally sub standard for the price. In fact no price would be worth it – it was a disgrace.

I do like staying at Novotel establishments but this was a disappointment.

One minor point - at these prices Novotel should give wifi for free (after all McDonalds can afford it).

Dear guest,

Thank you for taking the time to post your review on-line. Although I was pleased that you found the staff friendly, I was disappointed to read about speed and efficiency especially in housekeeping. I have addressed these issues with the Reception and Housekeeping to ensure this does not happen again. Thank you once again for your feedback and hope you will give us the oppportunity of welcoming you back. Kindest regards, hotel management

This hotel is a good value - everything is over-priced in London, but it feels at least that you're getting something for your money at this place. The lobby is new/redone and has every amenity you could want.

Location near Tower Bridge is great, as is the Tube 100 paces from the entrance. You really can get just about anywhere from here.

There's construction going on across the street, so ask for a room that doesn't face that way. Even though I'm a frequent user at this chain they put me in a room facing construction, which was not really going in the afternoon. It was, however, going full tilt the next morning at 7AM, (Saturday September 2010) but should be over in a few months.

Staff was helpful and professional.

Stayed here as a family and found it to be a great location - close to the tube so easy to get anywhere. Reception staff were pleasant and helpful and we were able to leave our bags there while we looked around London both before checking in and the day after having checked out.

Good breakfast too!

My wife and I stayed here as part of our Honeymoon in Europe in September 2010 and we had a wonderful stay. Great Location, only a Block from the Tower Hill Undreground Station, 2 block from The Tower of London. The Restaurant had great food, especially the Traditional English Breakfast Buffet every morning. Rooms were clean and the Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great Value, Highly Recommended.

We stayed at this hotel and were awed by the service, value, rooms and amenities. The staff was very friendly and helpful; they truly wanted our stay to be exceptional. The breakfast was amazing! One morning (after the transatlantic flight) I went downstairs to breakfast alone to pick up a snack for the rest of my family. Within minutes, the hostess had a tray ready with food for my family and warm milk for my much needed coffee. I have never seen such an extensive breakfast offered at a hotel. The excercise room is great, as is the relaxation room. Our room itself was newly renovated and large enough to easily accomodate our family of four. I have heard horror stories of small rooms in Europe and this was not the case here. The hotel also offered free internet -- a much appreciated perk. The hotel was also close to a number of eateries, the underground, the Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. We even walked the The Globe.
Well done, Novotel.
