“Reliable quality”

This was my third stay at The Rathbone and I would certainly return. All the staff are unfailing friendly and helpful. The rooms have eveything you need from quality toiletries, hairdryer, AC to crisp clean sheets and very comfortable bed. It is so nice to have a shower with good power too!
Although some of the furniture is a bit tired, it does not detract from a very comfortable stay. The breakfast is quiet, relaxed and a great start to the day. Also appreciated are the recommendations of local restauarants and bars. Great location, an oasis in the middle of hustle and bustle.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet one and you will be inside, peacful!

Great service - good small hotel in great location - close to good local restaurants - good breakfast and quiet cocktail bar. Highly recommended for business or leisure use - probably my favourite mid range hotel in the city

Room was comfortable with white company toiletries tea and coffee in the room. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order. Not cheap but convenient for theatres and centre of town overall a very pleasant stay.

Thank you for your nice review.

I am glad that you found the room comfortable, and the hotel location convenient.

The White Company toiletries and the English breakfast freshly cooked to order is only two of the pleasant details in service that you can find at The Rathbone.

We look forward to your next stay with us.

Kind Regards,
Miguel Silva

Lovely bolt hole in heart of London's West end - perfectly located for theatres, gigs, shopping, eating & bar hopping. My 5th floor room was remarkably peaceful given buzz of surrounding area. Charming & friendly staff. Deco freaks like me will especially love the original features, all beautifully preserved - the communal / bar areas are especially lovely. Excellent value for central London - I've already booked my next stay!

Room Tip: My 5th floor room was very peaceful despite the Friday night partying going on in nearby bars.

We stayed in the hotel just for a night, the staff are super friendly. The location is probably the best you can find! 2 mins walking into Oxford Str. - how close can you wish for? :-) Tons of restaurants, pubs, bars around the hotel, and really good ones, not the cheap stuff. The concierge is a really nice man, he gives really good advice and very accurate information. The restaurant he helped to book around the corner was delicious! The restaurant told us that he personally walked into the restaurant and begged for a last-minute-reservation for us! Wow, really touchy, isn't it? Also he can help to arrange pick up to the airport and if you are out of cash, they can take your credit card in the hotel payment system and let you prepay electronically. All I can just is this is only a transit 1 night biz trip in London but I will be back soon for private and I will definitely stay in this hotel!

Stayed for 1 night after watching Miss Saigon nearby. Walk from theatre 5/10 mins. Staff very courteous, and room a bit small, but this is the middle of London.
Room very pleasant, area lovely and full of cafe, bars, Etc. Would definitely recommend.

This review is rather overdue, as we stayed here in October 2013. English friends recommended this hotel, and although it is quite pricey, we couldn't fault the service or the location. The location is brilliant - just a few minutes to two tube stations (Tottenham Court Road) and to Oxford Street, and walking distance to the West End and all the theatres, Chinatown, Soho, Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square and even the Thames (as long as it wasn't raining). Lots of restaurants just out the door, and plenty of choice, which we enjoyed. And a small supermarket just up the road to get any supplies we needed.

We had been a bit worried reading reviews about the noise on Friday nights, but although there was a little noise it wasn't loud enough to bother us at all. (If I recall correctly, we were on the third or fourth floor.)

The hotel itself was good for a London hotel. We upgraded to get a slightly larger room, as we were staying for 10 days. The room still is smaller than most hotel rooms elsewhere, but it had enough space for us. The bathroom was pretty tired, but adequate, and at least, with a shower over the bath, there was room to move! Our package, booked on-line, gave us free wi-fi, and although it got a bit tedious ringing reception every day to get our various devices registered, the staff were always accommodating and cheerful.

We didn't take the breakfast package - with restaurants just around the corner offering full cooked breakfasts, and small cafes down the road where you can get anything from fruit to pastries to a breakfast sandwich, there was no need, and we saved a lot in not doing so. I'd recommend skipping breakfast and pay to upgrade the size of your room!

The bar is small but very comfortable and nicely furnished, and good for a drink at the end of the day or before dinner.

We would definitely consider staying here again. And we would also consider using their transfer car service from Heathrow. We took the Heathrow Express to Paddington then a cab to the hotel, which was fine, but it would probably have been cheaper to take the car service.

Thank you for remembering us and thanks to your friends for making the recommendation. Its great to read that you enjoyed your stay with us and that you took the time to explore and familiarise with the local area. Although we are very centrally located, we benefit from a great but quiet neighbourhood tucked behind Oxford St.

Thank you for commending our team and some of our facilities. We hope you will have another opportunity soon to visit the UK and to stay with us again.

Kind regards
