This hotel was our first stop on our 3-leg European honeymoon in July 2010. The hotel itself is a bit old, but that just adds to the charm. The elevator is ancient, the hallways are extremely narrow and floors are quite noisy ... again, delightfully charming, but a bit difficult to maneuver with large luggage. Watch your step on the marble staircase!
The service was excellent, as well as the food! I HIGHLY recommend their main dining roomm, offering a plentiful traditional English breakfast feast each morning. We also enjoyed a romantic dinner one evening, which was also superb.
The rooms are VERY small. The bed took up most of the space, with less than a foot between the bed and the wall. A bit difficult to maneuver with large luggage, but I understand this is standard with UK hotels. Limited storage space for hanging garments.
The location of the hotel is ideal for tourists - within walking distance of Victoria Station and Buckingham Palace. Fun pubs and restaurants nearby too. I would return in a heartbeat!More
