I've stayed at the Melia White House on a number of occasions. It's a very impressive hotel - especially the entrance hall which is dazzling. The rooms are furnished in an equally impressive style and the beds are huge. They've always been clean and tidy and the bathroom provides everything I need. They have a vague 1920's style to them which I like. I am, though, slightly frustrated by the lack of sockets in the rooms.
The breakfasts are always good - self-service so the food is kept on hot plates, but there's plenty of choice.
I would agree with comments about calling the flaky lifts. I've waited ages for a lift and it's very frustrating when you're in a hurry. But I've waited even longer at check-in - often queuing for 10 minutes or more. And having to wait for a lift after I've waited to check in doesn't put me in a good mood for the rest of my stay.
It's a large, busy hotel so lacks the personal attention which I prefer. But the staff are always polite and keen to help.More
