Patisserie Valerie is always a must when being in London. Me and my mummy like to visit the one in Picadilly as we usually park round the corner and its convenient. We have our afternoon tea with scones, strawberry jam and the creamiest clotted cream. They are a good size, 1 isn't enough, two is too filling, so we normally get 3 and half 1 and a half each. The only critique i could say is that the service could be a little better as places like that tend to be so busy and the staff have to be attentive at all times

I often stay in London on Jermyn Street at the Cavendish Hotel.

One of my treats was to have breakfast at the Piccadilly Patisserie Valerie.

In the past few years this group of cafes / patisseries has gone down hill rapidly.

They were a small operation of 8 patisseries based in London. The food was fresh and delicious and the service excellent.

then they were bought by Private Equity firm Risk Capital Partners and turned into a money making chain of 140 cafes all over the UK.

The result has been that the soul has been ripped out of these cafes.

the Piccadilly branch is now filthy dirty, serves bland food that has not been prepared with love or care. The one small toilet is filthy dirty with a chain that does not pull properly. It is a disgrace.

I recently visited PVs in Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth and in Salisbury and they were even worse.

Unfortunately have had to give up on this chain. big is not always beautiful.

When in London in June we stopped off here during the afternoon for Coffee and Cake. You are spoilt for choice, the vast range of cakes all look so appertising. The staff are efficient and friendly.

We had been doing the sightseeing bit and needed a seat and cup of tea! And there in Piccadilly was this patisserie with outside seating. As it was a warm sticky day we happily chose to sit outside. A waiter duly arrived and took our order and it has to be said that we lingered over our tea and cake enjoying the activities around us.
A very pleasant and relaxing experience!

Took my Mum here for a Cream Tea on her Birthday, what a mistake.
Cramped seating, the staff could barely move to work,a long wait to be served,30 minute wait for a drink, scones that had been griddled and burnt in a panini heater.Toilets similar to those on an aircraft.
Advise anyone to go elsewhere
