We have a flat close by (but it was let out) so know all about the attractions this area offers but also the size of flats. We were amazed at the generous size, not just overall but of the individual rooms. The kitchen/dining area is very well laid out with plenty of room to seat 8. The living room is large, with very well appointed (leather) sofas and chairs. The downstairs bedrooms (yes the apartment is reversed) are roomy, though there is no space for a desk in the third bunk bedded third room - great excuse for a teenager to revise on the dining area table. The master bedroom is huge with masses of storage. The bathrooms all work well though my disabled husband found the cylindrical taps hard to turn. The instructions are clear, the wifi worked without a hitch - vital with teenagers - and the TV is of a decent size.
The location is stunning, so close to Trafalgar Square, that the National Gallery, the National Portrait Gallery, the South Bank (just across Hungrrford footbridge), Covent Garden and the West End are all within easy walking (even for my husband). It was a joy to stroll back after a show in 15 minutes. And for our American friends the house Benhamin Franklin lodged in when in London is right next door, complete with tours and interactive video presentations.
The only word of caution for disabled or older patrons is that the stairs down to the bedrooms are curved at the top and as is typical of older houses slightly bowed and therefore a tad uneven. Though my husband didn't find them too steep.
There is a pub next door which we noticed when in the dining area in the evening, but it didn't impact on the bedrooms or the living room. The blinds are effective and railings prevent the customers from coming up against the side of the house, so the impact was negligible.
A wonderful location a lovely apartment , ideal for those who like to explore the centre of London on foot.
