I rarely eat at this pub but given I had an hour to spare I gave it a go.... To much disappointment. The burger, dry as anything, no seasoning whatsoever, no herbs, nothing... just a very dry minced meat burger sucked dry of all its flavouring. Brioche bun was also stale, just overall a rubbish meal. The sticky ribs didn't do much justice either. It isn't hard to cook ribs well but clearly here it was rocket science, again a rubbish meal. For a pint its ideal, anything else I would pass!

On the upside, good service, waiters/waitresses were very pleasant.

This independently owned pub is best for beers and bar snacks but the steak and chips is usually good too. Great atmosphere, mainly a younger group than me but always something happening there.

This is generally a cracking pub with excellent food and I would generally recommend this however the Timothy Taylor's 'Landlord' beer we chose was terribly cloudy and should not have been brought to our table. Was it poor quality service or knowingly deliberate? Most experienced bar staff would see the beer was 'not right' and offer an alternative. Not in this case...however in balance a replacement was requested and brought without quibble and the food was terrific.

P.S. Don't be fooled into thinking you can park nearby. The car park in Sydney street takes just 80 cars and is chocca from early morning. The rest is residents parking and the traffic wardens swarm like flies round a carcass.

Our hotel in London was quite near the Sydney Arms so we visited it several times. The cask beer selection was great and delicious. The food was good and served quickly. It seems a local hangout for people who are a bit younger than are we, but that was not ever difficult or intimidating. A lovely place.

On a week-long visit to London, our tour guide recommended this pub. It was near our hotel, Myhotel Chelsea, and we stopped by on two evenings for drinks. It had a special atmosphere and not touristy and the staff was very friendly. That's why we came twice. Special tip: just cozy up to the bar and ask one of the staff to draw you a pint of their 'finest' bitters. Then strike up a conversation with a local and enjoy a special evening!
