“A true gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 July 2014

I lived that it's a bit secrete, that you have to be shown up to the café. The decor and ambiance is lovely. We hade afternoon tea and it's a lot you get...maybe more quantity over quality an width...But it was tasty and serve don odd china and lovely Cake stands. Even if it is not the best afternoon tea i have ever had, it's definitely the cutest and most homely place i have been to.

“Not so great as I had expected!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 July 2014

Not so secret as we had hoped, as there was a big sign at the street outside the pub Coach & Horses. We hadn´t booked before and asked at the pub if they had a free table for two, and yes, it was okay for us to go up (stairs behind the bar). Upstairs there was an old-fashioned room with a few tables set with mismatched and broken cups, unfortunately stained with old tea. We didn´t appreciate the cakes as much as we had hoped, when the waitress told us what to choose between we didn´t really know what sort of cakes she meant, therefor we didn´t like some of our choices. Afterwards I realized that it had been wiser to approach the counter to see all the cakes and make our choices. We didn´t really think it was worth £40 for two (I am sorry to say) even though the place was very charming!

“Lovely experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 July 2014

Went here for tea after going to the Portrait Gallery. The staff was lovely, and the food was delicious. It felt pretty cool asking to be shown there then going up the stairs. We had a wonderful time, and it would be a great reasonably priced place to go for afternoon tea.

“A very cool experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 June 2014

Tucked away upstairs from what looks like a normal pub (but is actually a very cool vegetarian traditional pub) is this dainty and very classically English high tea room.

It's basically everything you expect - scones, petit fours and elegant crockery...all complemented by exquisite teas.
