This restaurant and bar is an absolutely fantastic gem in one of Londons most prestigious areas.
The hotel has gone under a recent renovation and it shows. The décor is smart and the foyer, bar, restaurant and even toilets were impeccably clean. Cleanliness I feel is always important in a hotel/restaurant as I feel it sets the standard for what is going on behind closed doors.
The food is described as having Thai and British pub influences. We had chicken satay and ribs to start, followed by a burger each and desert. Every course was of excellent quality and value and we finished everything. Service was attentive and friendly.
The only negative I would say was the lack of choice of wine. The red wine options were only between a Chilean Merlot and Spanish Tempranillo. We were advised that there was also a Shiraz, but we didn’t fancy that. We chose the Merlot which was £15 – very keenly priced, but very average tasting also. We would have been happy to pay more for something a little nicer.
To conclude, this seems to be a really nice hotel, as well as being a smart bar and good restaurant. On the night we visited it was quieter than usual and the background music was questionable but as a local to the area I would very happily return.
