The atmosphere and ambiance in this bar is fantastic. The food is lovely and the staff are the most efficient I have ever encountered (Martyna is brilliant)

“Great Dinner”
Reviewed 1 October 2012 via mobile

Wife and I staying next door at Ashburn Hotel and had mixed-feelings about having dinner there last evening after reading mixed reviews. However what a pleasant surprise: great waitress, super entrees, attentive manager - so a good time was had by all!

“An overlooked gem on the Cromwell Road - but a few niggles”
Reviewed 19 May 2012

We came here with the Travelzoo deal, which was excellent value. We took a table by the window, which was nice. Very well appointed decor and furniture, the place feels classy and a bit special. Service from Spanish waiter Daniel was friendly, but his colleagues (including the food and beverage manager) were less appropriate. We enjoyed excellent cocktails, although the barman did try to dissuade me from my choice, I suspect because he didn't want to make it. Starters and main courses were tasty and high quality, although I was disappointed that they had run out of steak (what hotel does that?) and the salad leaves that accompanied each plate needed a dressing. It was a little amateurish to have to order desserts at the start of the meal, but these too were excellent. We also had a bottle of prosecco, which was delicious, very light and not at all sharp. Two hotel residents appeared at 9:50 (when the restaurant stops serving at 10pm) and were told no food was available. They only wanted chips, and I was amazed that this could not be accommodated either by the kitchen or the room service menu. Very poor for a hotel lounge. Overall, we enjoyed our meal, but the service needs a few tweaks, I suspect largely because the f&b manager is poorly trained.
