From the off the staff were very helpful with directions and with our queries.

Rooms were lovely, big king size bed, modern layout and amenities. Pillows were too soft for my liking but mattress was great. Would be nice to have proper shampoo and conditioner instead of the 2in1 stuff they provide. Blackout blinds were great.

Breakfast was lovely with a good variety. Drinks at bar were good and reasonably priced for London. Very close (2 min walk) to Prince Regent DLR.

Hello gimme_wings, thank you for leaving us your review here. Great to hear our Talent took good care of you during your stay and you enjoyed our stylish rooms and amenities. We are excited to learn you loved our breakfast as we have just renewed our breakfast formula. You also had the opportunity to relax at our WXYZ Bar for a drink, which is good to hear. If you visit us again do not hesitate to check with our front desk Talent on the upcoming Live at Aloft gigs during your stay as these events are a real cool way to spent your evening. We look forward to welcome you back and wish you an easy breezy day! Martijn Mulder

Situated about twenty minutes from the Tower by DLR, this hotel offers comfort and convenience with a touch of luxury. Visitors to the vast Excel complex will find it only a few steps from the exhibition hall across a broad concourse with fine views over the Thames.

Everything is smart and clean and new, with stainless steel trim and plush carpets to give that feeling of quality at every turn. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, with smart tv's and plug-ins for every device ypou are likely to have with you. Wi-fi is free.

Our only complaint - and it was a big one - was that the air-conditioning plant in our room was unable to lower the temperature below 22 degrees, in spite of labouring for hours. With no opening windows, sleep became impossible, until we ordered up a portable fan just after midnight. It arrived within minutes and we finally managed a comfortable night's rest. I hope this was an engineering problem with our room, and not an endemic fault. Now that Britain seems to have turned into a country with long hot summers, air-con can no longer be considered a luxury.

The hotel has a gym and pool, as well as a well-stocked bar and restaurant. They even provide an ice bucket in your room, although you have to make a trip down to the bar to stock it up with ice.

My favourite Docklands hotel still remains the sumptuous Crowne Plaza, but the Aloft is well worth trying.

Room Tip: Check out the room temperature before accepting the key!

Hello Fossicker66, thank you for sharing your experience with us. Our hotel is indeed very easily accessible from the city centre and ideal for any Excel Exhibition conference attendants as we are right on their doorstep. Great to hear you liked our design and our spacious rooms with its high-tech facilities.
However it is disappointing to hear you have been uncomfortable due to the high temperature in your room. I hope you did receive assistance from our re:pair department but I am sorry we only offered you a fan after midnight, this could have been suggested much sooner unless we were unaware of your challenges with the air-conditioning.
Rest assured our air-conditioning system can be adjusted in temperature for individual rooms well below 22 degrees if necessary but there has been clearly something wrong with the air-conditioning system in your specific room. Thank you for staying with us and if you consider trying us again we will insure to keep you cool. Martijn Mulder

Innovative design and great facilities make this the best hotel in the London Excel area but also getting into central London is not that difficult as the DLR is right on the doorstep.

Rooms are well equipped and the beds are very comfortable.
Everything is provided, free water and coffee making, safe, ironing board and iron and great Audio Visual equipment.
The FEDE restaurant serves a reasonable menu and for night owls there is a 24hr snack bar

If you are staying in the Excel area then I can highly recommend this hotel.

Hi Im-away-again, thank you for sharing your experience with us. Great to hear you like our style and design. It is indeed quite easy getting to central London with the DLR and Tube lines whilst our hotel offers a new area of London to discover. It's good knowing you have enjoyed our rooms with it's comfortable beds which I trust left you fully energized to start a new day. Thank you for recommending us and we look forward seeing you again at Aloft London Excel! Martijn Mulder

Stayed for 3 nights for our London stay. Have to say was not expecting a hotel of this kind of quality when I was booking or when we were getting to the hotel. The hotel itself is brand new, the rooms were spectacularly clean and the staff was very friendly. They even had our Eurail passes received for us upon request. The bar is cozy and cheerful and there is a complimentary swimming pool and a gym. The rooms had good WiFi.
However, the location is horrible if you are visiting London by Heathrow, Gatwick, or taking the Eurostar. Takes less than an hour from Victoria station and is at zone 3 in the London underground map. It's connected to the Prince Regent DLR station so it's very convenient to access the DLR but you have to make a transfer to the Underground. The hotel itself is right next to London Excel, but the nearest restaurants a 15 minute walk around the Excel. You probably wanna take the DLR to Royal Victoria DLR station.
This is the best hotel you can probably sleep in for this kind of money, recommended for value, good rooms, but not for location.

Hi Nicholaskim94, thank you for leaving us your review here. Great to hear you liked our stylish hotel and experienced our hotel rooms as spectacularly clean but most of all we are excited to hear you find our Talent very friendly. Our re:mix has a great vibe indeed and our splash pool and re:charge gym are a great way to relax. As you described the hotel is situated in an up-and-coming area but cannot be compared to central London. It’s good to hear though you found your way around and I would definitely recommend to fly on London City Airport instead of Heathrow or Gatwick as this airport is very close by and saves a lot of travel time. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back with us and wish you an easy breezy day! Martijn Mulder

Amazing. Simply amazing. The interiors of this room is designed so well. The windows, desks and lights have been thought of clearly of where they would be placed and what connection they have to the room. Great shower, good quality sink and taps. These rooms are very well thought of, they use the space well and never ever would you feel crowded. Great furniture with comfortable beds only to be perfected by the use of colours and materials. Great service and incredible building which stands out in Excel. This hotel is modern, trendy, hip, full of character and soul.

This is not the first hotel I've visited in the UK where the bar did not open until 5:00 pm, but it amazes me as to why this is? Can someone explain it to me? With so many people needing jobs, hotels could employee bartenders as well as make a load of money having bars open.

Hi Patti B, thank you for sharing your experience with us. My apologies for the disappointment experienced when you found our re:mix bar closed until 5PM. Being a hotel that is mostly visited by business guests, experience shows that they mostly return to the hotel after work for a drink therefore the afternoon is relatively quiet at the hotel nevertheless if there are any guests that would like a drink or snack our re:fuell is open 24hrs a day. Hopefully our re:mix opening times do not hold you back to visit us again and I appreciate your feedback. Martijn Mulder

We spent one night in transit between LHR and LCY. It is a convenient hotel for LCY. It lacks warmth and personal touch. The room was clean, efficient, and small. The swimming pool looked amazing, although I did not use it. the swimming pool is not private at all. food options are simply functional, this is not a foodie place!! As for the location, it is in the middle of nowhere, so to speak, unless yoy count the Excel facility as a draw.

Hi RabbitVancouver, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are indeed very closely located to London City Airport and with the DLR line on our doorstep it is easy to get to the airport. I am sorry to hear you felt the hotel lacked warmth and personal touch as our aim is to connect with our guest in a vibrant and relaxed environment. Great to hear though you found the room clean and efficient which hopefully provided you with a good night sleep and left you energized. Our Splash pool is indeed a great way to relax and can be used exclusively by our hotel guests. Our hotel is indeed based in an up-and-comming area but our Talent is in the know to give you some fun and refreshing activities and restaurants in the area. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back with us and wish you an easy breezy day! Martijn Mulder
