Where do we even start??? Staff CLEARLY hate their jobs, food over cooked completely tasteless and thrown on a plate, terrible management, completely clueless and deranged the 'boss' thinks that he is running the place...he clearly drives the staff up the walls with his rudeness and how I hear him speak to people and then actually has the gall to charge £5 per pint...such a terrible shame seeing as it is such a beautiful pub, get rid of that idiot and the place will run itself

Visited the Devonshire on Friday 20th to socialise and eat with a large group of friends. Am loving the new things on the menu. Order taken promptly and food all arrived at similar time. Food was good quality, well presented and very tasty . We weren't rushed through the courses and had plenty of time to chat and catch up. I had no room for a pudding after the huge fish and chips but my partners tiramisu looked great. A very nice evening in a very friendly pub -we will be back soon.

My family and I visited the Devonshire on a saturday at lunchtime. There were very few people in the restaurant which in my opinion does not create much atmosphere. Having visited the pub for a drink the previous evening - when it was full - I had a completely different impression.

The service was good as was the quality and choice of food.

I recommend this pub/restaurant if you require simple food at a reasonable price.

Much better value pubs round. The sunday roast is small and over priced. They wanted £5 for a pint of orange juice too

Went in for a few drinks with friends on a Friday night - you would expect this to be busier but no vibe and a little dead.
Unhappy fellow behind the bar on first serving and we avoided him for the duration of the night and got someone else - not a good impression.
Not cheap either, this isn't the West End you know - rounds were pretty expensive and we weren't drinking anything out of the ordinary.
There is a beer garden and food but the food also was not good value - plenty of other places in Balham for a decent feed - this can't be one of them but as we didn't try the food we can't tell about the quality.
Big open spaces and nicely decked out, pity about the atmosphere.
