Superbly located. Welcoming hosts. Spotlessly clean and well appointed room. Adequate breakfast. We would stay again. The website pictures do not do the place justice, it's much nicer. Access to computer was very helpful.

I stayed at Arosfa with my fiancé for 2 nights May 31st - June 2nd in room 2 which was on the ground floor with a garden view. The room was lovely and clean and an adequate size. All of the staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was tasty, had options of fruit, yoghurt, pastries and cereal and hot food made to order. Location is ideal 5 mins walk from Euston Square tube stop which is only one stop to Kings Cross. Would recommend and will definitely stay here again.

Hosts are great made you feel welcome like an old friend rather than paying guest, we were able to leave luggage on final day freeing us up for a day shopping and sightseeing on collecting luggage much later in day still made very welcome offered drinks and use of lounge to relax in until we were ready to leave, good location close to theatres, transport links,
Only downside was the really small and cramped en suite , Apart from that a great stay

We stayed 3 nights, in a renovated room. Excellent room, fantastic bathroom and wonderful hosts. Martin and Leiga were so helpful. Breakfast was delicious, every thing fresh. This was our 3rd stay at Arosfa and will stay there again if we get to London. Easy access to trains and buses.

The hotel is brilliantly located on Gower Street just north of Oxford Street at the Tottenham Court road end. It is close to the tube and is quiet at night. I was travelling alone for business and was in one of the smallest bedrooms I have ever stayed in (including Japan!) and it was brilliant. The room was barely the width of two single beds but it had everything I needed and had a really nice bathroom.

The welcome from the staff was exceptional and the free wifi was great as was the opportunity to use the free commputer access in the lounge. Breakfast was fantastic with a good selection of quality cereals and yoghurts as well as the full English fried breakfast if required. All in all a great central London stay in a typical city centre B&B.

Room Tip: These are small rooms and it is not a full service hotel but it has exceptional friendliness and ser...

London is not an easy town to find clean, good value hotels or B&Bs but Arosfa fits the bill nicely.

Pros: location in Bloomsbury, close to several tube stations and plenty of restaurants in walking distance. Friendly staff, very helpful and quick to fix problems. Rooms have high ceilings and are very clean. Breakfast is varied and fresh, with fruit, cereals, yogurt, rolls, eggs or full English. The living room is inviting and there are two computers for guest use. The B&B also has history, being the home of Pre-Raphaelite painter John Everett Millais, whose Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood was founded just a few houses down on Gower Street. I wish the hotel made more of this connection; other than a few pictures of Millias's works in the vestibule there is no sign of Millais or his presence in the building.

Cons: The hotel was converted to its current use with little regard to its historic past, sheetrock and cheap fixtures destroying most signs of gentility that may have once graced the house. Our triple room (#4) was more spacious than I had expected and had high ceilings and a (nonworking) fireplace. However the microscopic modular toilet/sink/shower unit was retrofitted in and was difficult to maneuver. (An extra sink in such rooms would be nice). This was one of the non-renovated rooms with single pane sash windows, which barely muffled the sometimes intense street noise. Although we were on the garden side of the hotel, we heard every car and especially the sometimes raucous pub one block away, whose customers stand outside in good weather until quite late at night. From other reviews it seems that renovated rooms don't have this noise problem. The beds were on the soft side but this is not necessarily an issue for many, and the wifi often cut out. I think a stronger broadband service or additional repeaters would help in a tall building with plaster walls.

One more remark: breakfast times should be taken seriously. The first morning we arrived shortly after 9am and the breakfast room was very busy such that we waited a while to order breakfast. The next morning we arrived exactly at the cutoff of 9:30am to find that the room was in fact closed. After a bit of pleading our host had mercy on us and arranged for us to have a quick breakfast. So beware that 9:30 means they CLOSE at 9:30, not that you can show up at around that time and expect to dine at leisure, as is the case at some hotels.

All in all a pleasant experience and a hotel we wil definitely consider for a future London trip.

A nice little clean hotel in a good location for a reasonable price. The breakfast is yummy. The hospitality is great. Perfect for a small wallet. But you get what you pay for. We have booked a triple room and it was more than small for tree boys. The triple room was a small double room and a bad joke for three boys. It was very uncomfortable and cramping in this room. Not acceptable. In general the hotel is a little bit overrated.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Arosfa Hotel is a refurbished 200-year old Georgian Town House in the heart of historic Bloomsbury district, the former home of the famous Pre-Raphaelite artist Sir John Everett Millais. The cool white garden squares and wide streets of Bloomsbury have been a pull to thinkers for centuries, and it sometimes seems like every second house has a blue plaque denoting that a great writer, scientist or philosopher once inhabited the building. It was in Bloomsbury that Karl Marx created communism, Virginia Woolf defined the twentieth century British novel, and Charles Darwin first conceived the theory of natural selection. The imposing bulk of the British Museum, home to seven millennia of human art and artefacts, dominates the area, and there are plenty of other academic institutions including Birkbeck College, the beautiful University of London Library, and RADA, London's grandest drama school. ... more   less
