We didn't stay in the hotel but stopped for refreshments after a visit to Tate Modern. The location is great. The decor in the pub is very inviting, seating is comfortable and an excellent selection of whiskies! It looks well maintained, it is clean and bright as are the loos. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The hotel reviews are good here so I would definitely consider it for our next visit to London.

And the attached pub perfectly decent. Room at the back for peace from the traffic. Didn't try food or breakfast, but given what we wanted from a hotel for our night at the Young Vic (just 5 minutes round the corner) and access to the South Bank, absolutely perfect..

Took a group of US university students to London for two weeks and we stayed at the Mad Hatter. We had a great time....great, safe location for students to walk on the south bank and see the sights. Watched World Cup soccer in the pub--what could be better than that? Complimentary breakfast, and free WiFi for hotel guests. Great pies in the pub--the steak pie was my favorite. Would definitely stay there again.

The Mad Hatter Hotel is situated on the South Bank of the River Thames - not far from the Modern Tate Gallery and Globe Theatre. It is ideally situated and extremely good value - plus it has its own pub which you can access 24/7 (should you feel thirsty).

If this hotel were located on the other side of the Thames it would be much more expensive.

This hotel is very well located for exploring all of the top London tourist destinations, by foot or by underground. The staff is very helpful, and even let us use their computer and hotel phone when our international flight was delayed. The breakfast, although a little pricey, is convenient and tasty. To add to that, the rooms are all individually decorated and very unique! The bed was the best we had in our whole Europe trip, and the heated towel rack with warm towels is a nice touch. They also provide shampoo, body lotion, manicure set, shower cap, etc. We got a good price on hotels.com rather than booking directly through the hotel.
