I just finished a four night stay at this hotel and I am very happy that I booked it. I selected this hotel because I was traveling with a friend and it was his first visit to London. The location, as many reviewers have written, is perfect for the tourist. We were only a 15 minute walk to the State Apartments at Buckingham Palace and a 20 minute walk to the London Eye. The British Museum is also just a 15 minute walk away. I am a Hilton Gold member and hoped for a room upgrade at check-in but they were completely sold out during the weekend that we stayed here. We did receive free breakfast and free internet. The WiFi was fast and I could watch movies on my laptop without any trouble. We were on the third floor and overlooked a courtyard. We did not hear any noise while we slept at night. The beds were comfortable. We had plenty of hot water and good water pressure. We were able to visit the roof top bar one night and the view of Trafalgar Square was wonderful. In-house guests are given preference on reservations but it is frequently closed due to weather or private parties. It was closed one night that were there due to rain. Everyone we met who worked for the hotel was friendly and wanted to serve.

If you want to be in the middle of living, breathing, ruling, partying, eating, singing, laughing London, the Hotel Trafalgar puts you there in the middle of the square and right on the edge of the West End. Covent Garden, Soho, Chinatown and Leicester Square are all a few blocks in front of you and Parliament/Big Ben, 10 Downing Street, Westminster Abbey are just as close in the other direction. Our 2nd floor room with its very comfy queen size beds, looked out over Trafalgar Square but was absolutely quiet. The staff is young, friendly and very helpful - not nearly as cool and trendy as the hotel itself tries to be. The building is elegant and classy but Hilton has given the interior a clubby vibe complete with sparkly floored elevators pulsing (at a tantalizingly low volume) with dance music around the clock. Hilton goes a little too far, especially the silly mood lighting in the hallways (God forbid you need to see inside your purse for your room key). Also, housekeeping needs a little training on how to put a room back together every day. But these are small criticisms. My husband, kids and I stayed at the Trafalgar for 7 marvelous nights feeling all the while a part of the great city, and we would do it again in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the square. You shouldn't have noise problems.

Dear Guest

We were delighted to read your wonderful feedback, following your recent stay with us and have noted your comments regarding your room, which have been shared with the team and appropriate action has been taken to train any new members of Housekeeping.

The Trafalgar Hotel is a unique unbranded Hilton property in the heart of London with a boutique and vibrant ambiance. We do appreciate that the vibe is different and, although we receive many positive comments from guests, we do understand that the lighting and music is not always to everyone's liking. We were pleased to hear that this was a minor criticism and that you thoroughly enjoyed your stay at the hotel.

It sounds like you had lots of fun during your 7 days with us and we are delighted that you took the time to share your comments with Travellers on Trip Advisor.

We hope to see you again soon.

Kind regards

My partner and I stayed for a birthday treat. The hotel location was fantastic. However, we paid a lot of money for our room to find the decor dated at best and the bathroom flooded when we showered. After a long battle we managed to get another room but we wished we had got another hotel as we didn't sleep at all due to the noise from other rooms. Won't be returning.

I've spent here 4 nights with my mother and my 6yrs old son. We booked a Deluxe Double Room (35sq mt) with a Super King Size Bed, a Couch and armchair in the room. We've also got the extra bed for the kid with no extra charge. The staff very kind and professional, very nice roof terrace and very nice bar in the hall... TV, DVD, CD player in the room, tea/coffee and kettle in the room, very nice bathrobe and a scale just to remind you not to eat too much.. ;)
--- B U T ---
- The windows of the room don't open. So if you are claustrophobic I would ring them if there is any room with the windows you can open.
- Wi-Fi is free ONLY in the public areas of the hotel. If you want to use internet in your room is £15 per 24h and this a very big "disappointment" considering that in most of the hotel now the Wi-Fi is free.
- Mini-Bar: great choice but definitely over-priced!
- Breakfast: I feel I made a mistake buying the breakfast option with the room because I only have a simple breakfast, definitely not worth the £15. Don't get me wrong, the menu and the buffet are Excellent, great choices very fresh food, so very good for those who enjoy a big breakfast, for all the others around the hotel is plenty of places where to get a nice cappuccino or a coffee for £5.

Room Tip: The Deluxe Double Room is very big! (35sq mt) BUT if you are claustrophobic... call the hotel becaus...

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with Travellers on Trip Advisor.

We were delighted to hear that you were pleased with the room we allocated for you and that you enjoyed our facilities, particularly Vista, our rooftop bar and terrace.

We do have some bedrooms at the hotel with window restrictors fitted to them to allow guests to open windows slightly, and would advise any guests who wish us to check the availability of these rooms, to call us prior to their stay.

For those guests who have stayed with us before, they will be aware that our breakfast is widely known as an amazing experience and would like to thank you for your observations regarding our fresh range of food on offer. It is great value for money for the extensive choices and we hope that you will stay and enjoy this experience next time you visit.

We hope to see you soon.
Kind regards

Just returned from a fantastic weekend in London, 2nd to 4th August. Check in was great and even though we were really early we were allocated a room immediately. The room was lovely, large bed, plenty of storage space, great shower and very well cleaned. We were in room 318 and we seemed to have a very close up view of an office block and it's court yard but it was quiet and we didn't spend much time there so the facilities and location made up for everything. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The roof top bar is fantastic but paying £45 including service charge for 6 drinks (including 4 small bottles of beer) took us by surprise.

Stayed here with my wife for the night, were both excited as it was our first time staying at this hotel, I used my HH points for the stay and on check in was awarded an upgrade to a suite, from stepping in the elevator we knew it would be a good stay. The room was amazing, big is an understatement, we walked in to a lounge area with a big tv with DVD player, a large couch, 2 table and chairs, a coffee machine and a toilet room, from that we had a wardrobe area and huge bathroom and a massive bedroom consisting of a desk area, tv unit, chair and tables, huge couch and the biggest comfiest bed ever. So didn't wanna leave the room for the evening.
The hotel throughout has little colour led lights everywhere which just adds to the enjoyment if the hotel. Everything is so clean in the hotel, from floors to windows and staff, so are so polite and helpful. A real wow factor is the rooftop bar, the views are amazing of London, helped the sun was shining and was boiling up there which made drinking even better. Could if stayed there for the while night. There is a lobby bar as well, plenty if seats with a lovely vibe and attentive staff. Location of the hotel is good, 5 mins walk from Charing Cross and Embankment stations. An easy 10 minute walk to Covent garden and Leicester square. All in all a real gem of a London hotel, location, cleanliness, rooms, staff is all 10/10 5*, already planning on our next visit here.

The location of this hotel is superb. You can walk in any direction to see the main attractions of London. The only weird thing was the dark purple lighting in the hallways. I'm not sure what that was about, but it felt very odd. The rooms were comfortable with reliable wifi. Breakfast was very good each morning. The rooftop bar was closed for functions while we were there. Overall, great hotel with weird purple lights in the hallway. :p If they got rid of those, I'd give it 5 stars.
