“Very central, clean and friendly”
Reviewed 24 October 2011

This hotel is very handy for King's Cross station and Euston Square. The staff are very friendly and the free wifi and included breakfast is a bonus. I stayed on the first floor, which had a pleasant outlook. I agree that the room is on the small side, but I had a closet and chair and had enough space for one person. The only negative would be that because it is so central it is really quite noisy ( all night). All in all, a good stay and very good value for this area of central London.

Room Tip: First floor seems to be the best option, but which ever room you get, please pack some earplugs if y...

The hotel was in a good location for Kings Cross station and very reasonably priced. The room was on the ground floor and very very small. No wardrobe or chest of draws in fact there was no where to keep your clothes. The windows are not double glazed and the hotel is on a cross roads so it is noisy on a night. I was still awake in the early hours of morning due to noise outside. On a positive note the breakfast was okay and the staff very polite. In summary, very small, reasonably priced, noisy outside.

Positives: Location of Hotel, Very polite staff, Clean rooms, Nice decor, Breakfast, Free Internet (wi-fi).
Negatives: Reception area is non existent and just a small area (approx 3 x1mSq) with a cubicle for the staff to take bookings, payments, etc. This is very uncomfortable especially when other guests are waiting to check-in/out, and as there is nowhere to sit and wait other than on the stairway which I see as a hazard. No air-con in rooms.

Windows are double glazed which helps as there are some pubs near the hotel which can be very noisy until early hours.

I would stay at Leigh House Hotel again.

We stayed for one night. Staff very friendly. Room was clean although on the small side. But that can only be expected in central London. Reasonably priced. Breakfast included was very good. Ideal for short vists to explore London.

The bedroom was newlydecorated and the bathroom clean with modern fittings. The bed was very comfortable and the staff very helpful. Locations was excellent for central London. Would definately stop again and recommend.

Me and a female friend from overseas stayed here for a weekend and what can I say?

While the hotel itself may be somewhat small, it's in an amazing location and best of all the service was incredible. The staff who worked there were incredibly friendly, there was a situation where we had a problem with our reservation at a restaurant fell through, we decided to just skip dinner and go to bed.

However at around 1am we both figured we should eat at least something, so I spoke to the guy at the reception and he ordered a pizza for us (not glamorous, but it hit the spot.) He was nice enough to collect it when it came and walk all the way up the stairs to knock on our door to deliver it.

Another situation on the final morning of Monday we arrived for breakfast at 9 (finishes at 9:30 on weekends but at 9 on weekdays) but were told we were too late, but we were cooked one anyway.

But overall the rooms and bathroom were clean, the beds were soft and service excellent. If a "cosy" sized hotel doesn't put you off, the value and prime location are just right. The friendly service alone is worth 5 stars.

Personally I wouldn't recommend a stay longer than maybe 2-3 days, it can be a bit cramped and if like us you get put on the 2nd floor the steep stairs might get to you. Sleeping wasn't a problem, but we could occasionally hear a door slamming but that was about it.

Room Tip: Room 9 had a nice view of the grassy area next to the hotel and looked like it had recently been ren...

The visit to London was for a two day stay with my wife, mixing pleasure and business.
To cut a long story short i will just list the good and poor.
Good
The room and bathroom area was clean .
Good shower
Poor
The room is very small. You can only access bed from one side.
The windows are not doubled glazed - They offer no protection from the traffic or pub noise. They may as well be open.
The noise from the traffic is incessant.
The noise from the pub goes on well into the early hours - no chance of sleep.
The walls are paper thin - You can hear all the conversations, etc
The wardrobe is about 2 feet wide
You cannot fill the kettle as it does not fit under the tap - keep filling with cups.
The toilet seat does not stay up - tricky for the men.
Electric socket for kettle way up high on the wall
Stair carpet brown may be from age.
Cooked breakfast - one fried (hard) egg - the smallest I have ever seen. One piece of bacon - tough as old boots - one sausage ok pleasantly suprised(You could have beans and tom if required.)
Fruit Juice, cereal and yoghurt available - cant go wrong there.
No phone in room
Cannot remember any literature at all in the room about anything.

Its a B & B at best but really needs a major makeover - Never again!

Room Tip: You get what you pay for.
