“Good location, a bit overpriced”
Reviewed 19 July 2013

The hotel is in a good location, being about a 10 minute walk to St Pancras/Kings Cross, Euston Station and Russell Square Station. There was also a pub across the street which did nice, cheap meals, a few shops around and a laundromat on the street. It was chilly when we stayed so we didnt get much noise from people hanging around outside the pub.
We found this hotel to be overpriced for what is was. The rooms were pretty average. The pics on their website make the rooms look bigger than they are and they ended up feeling just a little bit cramped with two of us plus our large suitcases in there. There was also no lift so we had to carry our luggage up to the third floor. The rooms and ensuites were clean, however, and new towels were provided everyday. Our two friends had a lovely view of the park acorss the street too. The service was good, friendly and accommodating, and they kindly held our bags for us on the day we checked out. The cooked English breakfast (included in room price) was also quite good, and included juice, cereal, tea/coffee, toast, beans, bacon, eggs etc. the usual.
Overall we weren't especially impressed with this hotel, but it did the job.

If you are travelling to London for a fancy weekend, then this is probably not the best hotel for you. I was on business and just needed somewhere to sleep. The rooms where clean, decent size, tv etc and the breakfast was pretty good. All in all, nothing fancy but good enough for me.

This is a pretty basic London hotel. It's on a mostly quiet street about 5 min walk from Kings Cross St Pancras (although Russell Square tube station is actually closer). Mostly because the pub right across the street can be a bit loud until opening time, especially if the weather's nice and the outside tables are being used. The hotel has only 10-12 rooms at most. The rooms are small, as is pretty typical in London, but they're clean and serviceable. Very basic soaps and amenities. Hot water is a bit hit and miss. Beds are doubles, not queens, but surprisingly not lumpy. Decor isn't anything to write home about. There's no lift, so you'll have to lug your bags up steep, narrow flights of stairs (but the place is only about 2-3 stories high anyway). If someone in another room showers with the bathroom door open the steam can set off the building fire alarm--very fun at 4:45am! And the walls are paper thin, so you'll hear your neighbors stumbling in after the pub. Service is fine but not exactly warm and welcoming. Overall, stay for the convenience if you have an early morning international train leaving out of St Pancras or a conference at the British Library. Otherwise, you can find better deals in more interesting areas.

Room Tip: Don't accept the basement room. Ask for a room on the first floor--higher rooms means further to...

A decent hotel with a good location nearby Kings Cross station. Nothing special this hotel but nothing really wrong either except the shower in our room wasn't very good, water pressure was low and the shower head surprised us every day if it would work decent or not.

This hotel is very well situated for both Euston and Kings Cross. The bed was clean and comfortable but overall the decoration was amateurish. There is no real foyer - just a door in a wall with a keypad. On entering there was a disinterested young chap playing with a computer who merely enquired if I would like to pay immediately (!) there is no lift -and some rooms are on the third floor up narrow, winding stairs. Thankfully my room was only on the first floor -but no assistance was offered.

The room had a tiny wardrobe (smaller than a coffin) , no bedside table or phone and no information at all. On the plus side the room was warm and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was served two floors down in a basement. There were no facilities at all in the hotel.

£70 would have been acceptable for a distress purchase for business but £149 was a real rip off

Room Tip: Stay on the lowest floor - and totally unsuitable for anyone with access problems

Nothing particularly wrong here, but nothing that right. Single glazed GF room right on to the street and a small room (a double supposedly). Spending as little to charge as much is clearly the plan here. Cheapest soaps, cheapest breakfast. Fair enough if it was £50-£60 per night, but £150. No way.

Small, dirty, damaged room - light switches coming off the wall, shower door off the track. Shampoo not replaced (nice to find at 6 a.m.). Narrow steep staircase and no assistance with luggage - dangerous.

Convenient, but so are the 8 other hotels in the same area...
