We had a girlie Mamma Mia experience and stayed one night at The Fielding. We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who said we could leave our cases as we were a bit early and our room wasn't ready. Covent Gardens is on the doorstep yet The Fielding was tucked away in a fairly quiet courtyard. The Fielding has all the luxury extras that you would expect for a 4*, i.e. shampoos etc. slippers, bottles of water and free Wi-Fi. However, we did take with us our swimming costumes as there was a picture of a pool. When we asked about the pool the receptionist said she could give us a "pass" and the pool and gym were 200 yards down the road. On reading their website to check this, it states in very small print that the pool is not on the premises. I certainly was under the impression that the pool was on site. So we didn't go for our anticipated swim. It would have been nice to have been able to have breakfast but we weren't particularly bothered and we were aware no breakfast was included in the price.

Room Tip: No lifts to upper floors.

For our first stay in Covent Garden we chose the Fielding Hotel and it turned out to be a splendid decision. The location is simply unbeatable, on a quiet courtyard across from the National Opera. The Covent Garden tube is about a seven minute walk (note-closed to outgoing travel until November 2104) and provides excellent connections to virtually all of the sites. There are many restaurants within an easy walk as is the West End Theater District and China Town. The hotel is small but clean and well managed. Grace, the manager, is very helpful and knows the area quite well. We were there during a London "heat wave" but the air conditioning worked. Our bathroom had been recently remodeled. The hotel is less than half the price of many other Covent Garden properties and has the best location. There is no food service but there are several nearby choices for breakfast. Keep in mind there are no elevators and the stairs looked a little daunting. We had a ground floor room which was quiet and surprisingly private. The single rooms are small. We plan to return to London next year and plan to stay at the Fielding. Very satisfied.

Room Tip: Book early-the manager said they have been sold out for two years. Keep in mind no elevators.

Myself and my husband stayed here for a night this week and the hotel as a whole was very good - the location is great - just off Covent Garden and close to Theatres, restaurants etc.

We were told on arrival that the air con was broken in our room (not that it mattered as it was a cold-ish day) and they supplied an air con unit, which was very good. Double room was an ok size, bathroom was quite small with only a shower but was ok for one night.

The only thing I would say was that the bed and pillows were quite hard!! But all in all it was a nice hotel. I will stay again when I come to London

We found this hotel to be exactly what we were looking for. Set in a quiet pedestrians area a short walk from Covent Garden and a good base for seeing the sights. The hotel was very clean and our room ,although small had everything we needed, good beds, linen and proper blankets and covers rather than duvets which was a nice change. The room and enuite were immaculately clean and well presented with air con which we didn't need but I would imagine would be needed in warmer weather as the room was smaller. I would say the only negative with the room was the rattling windows but this was just a minor thing as the building has sash windows and of course they will do that. Other than this we had a quiet nights sleep. The staff were very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble, we arrived before our check in time and our bags were looked after and we were offered facilities to freshen up which was very welcome. Well done Fielding Hotel we had a great stay

Room Tip: We were in room 32 , smallish and a few stairs to climb. Found it to be quiet with no outside noise.

We greatly enjoyed this small and tidy hotel, the location was simply perfect. In Covent Garden, near most of what you will want to do Very near Soho, the British Museum, Westminster, Trafalgar Square, the London Eye and the "1 square mile" of the old London. No more than 2-3 tube stops from **almost** anything you'll be likely to do. Restaurants and pubs all around Half a dozen breakfast and coffee shops within a block. No elevator, which could be an issue for people with mobility issues, but we'll use it again.

Room Tip: Choose lower floors if stairs are a challenge.

Situated very close to Covent Garden and Leicester Square, this hotel is a great place to stay to explore all Central London and beyond has to offer.

The couple of negatives first - the carpets on the stairs could do with being replaced and the beds are not the most comfortable I've slept in but they are only minor quibbles.

On the positive side, the staff were very helpful, polite and cheery on arrival and nothing is too much trouble for them. The rooms had air conditioning in them which even on a cool summer evening still came in useful.

I was also pleasantly surprised 3 milk cartons per cup were left for a brew instead of the usual hotel standard of 2 which leaves coffee like mud. The refreshment selection was better than the usual hotel offerings too with plenty of water and buscuits.

Overall, a good hotel for the price you pay considering the location - would certainly consider staying here again if I chose to spend the night round Central London though I do usually move round different areas of London just to see other things

Room Tip: 3rd floor rooms were quiet but a bit of a hike up - not ideal for people not so clever on their feet

We were greeted by a friendly face upon arrival and all staff were the same.
The hotel is in an ideal position and we arrived from Heathrow airport and caught the tube direct to Covent Garden a couple of 100 metres from the door.
Rooms are spotless and have everything you need.
It can get a little noisy at night but that's the price you pay for being central and we didn't mind .Pack some earplugs if this is an issue .The staircase is very narrow and rooms are upstairs so this may not suit older or larger , unfit people but other than that Perfect.
We did have large suitcases and managed fine.Plenty of restaurants and Brekkie places nearby and lots of tourist areas within easy walking distance.
Would stay here again!

Room Tip: If there are rooms at the back possibly a bit quieter on a Fri,Sat night.
