Stayed here last week for a couple of nights for our 10 year wedding anniversary, being as we have merlin passes I chose the hotel for the location right next to the eye and the dungeon and aquarium. The reception is automated although there is people to help, I had hoped to have a word with someone and get a room in a nice location with a nice view but this didn't happen as you cant chat up a machine. The hotel is over 6 floors and quite large however it seemed to occupy the rear and inner sections of the county hall building meaning there are no good views!

Our room was on the 2nd floor and one of the inner building sections but overlooked a service area, sorry to say there was lots of noise from other guests shouting good night and see you in the morning at almost 1am, never a good thing, the bed was hard and the room cold with the heater off and with it on it was very noisy. There was quite a bit of noise from the service area then to cap it off someone started smashing glass bottles into the bins at 5.45am! Final straw.

We had planned on a lazy day with a lie in but no chance of that soon as it hit 7am the doors started banging loudly as everyone seemed to head for breakfast. I went down to reception and spoke to a lovely lady who's name I didn't catch but she was very apologetic and sorted out moving rooms to one at the end of a corridor which was far quieter, when I took the old key card back she sorted out a refund for the first night and couldn't have been more helpful.

New room was far better the heater didn't make a noise so we could have the heating on and the bed was much better meaning all issues resolved.

During the afternoon of the 2nd day there was a fire alarm and out nearest exit took us through a door into the mariot section of the hotel and down some stairs into the service area. Although there was someone at the gated who directed us to the gardens next to the eye there was no one there checking everyone was safe, I guess there would be no way to tell who was in their room and who wasn't but would have been nice for someone to have been there to tell us what was happening. We decided to get on the Eye instead!

We didn't have any food in the hotel as there was a few places around the hotel such as the slug and lettuce which has 50% off food on a Monday!

Over all very very good location but don't be afrade to complain if your room is bad!

Room Tip: maybe ask the receptionist to have a look at the room map and if you get to your room and its rubbis...

This is the first time I've chosen to stay at a Premier Inn in a long time, previously its only been for business where there wasn't another option, but after this stay I'll definitely be back!

The hotel is located directly behind the London Eye, at the rear of the building that houses the Aquarium. Nicest way to access on foot is from Westminster tube, as you get the lovely walk over the bridge (albeit busy with tourists). Alternatively you can alight at Waterloo which is just as near but not as scenic a walk.

Check in was smooth and efficient, we were around 20 mins early but no mention or fuss was made about this which sometimes happens in even the more 'up market' places. You can also self check in using a machine but there was no queue so we used the old fashioned method!

The room was HUGE by London standards, more like a US room. Twin was two big doubles rather than singles, and there were plenty of plug sockets, storage, etc. The only quibble we had is that the room was quite warm, and we both like it cold so we had to open the window as far as it would go (not very far) to try and cool the room.

Beds VERY comfy, got a fab nights sleep. Room in general seemed in good condition and recently decorated. Bathroom could do with modernising, and better toiletries - but still more than I was expecting for £124 on a Friday night, at half term, smack bang in the centre of London!

We didn't eat in the hotel but they had an amazing deal that included a 3 course dinner and breakfast the next day for £22, and the menu looked extensive. If you want a quick snack there were 3 big vending machines and a Costa Express coffee machine in reception.

The hotel stored our bags for us on check out for a few hours while we shopped, and every time we encountered a member of the team they said hi, or asked how our stay was going - very impressed.

Would definitely return if the price was right, and would recommend if having a central location is important for you.

We stayed at the hotel for 1 night with our 2 young children. The location of the hotel was perfect for a base to explore the city, with 2 tube stations close by. The check in was really quick and easy. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful especially with our children. The room was spacious and very clean. We would definitely stay in this hotel again.

Have wanted to stay at this particular Premier Inn for a while and I wasnt disappointed at all. The location couldnt possibly be any better and we had a view of the Thames and London eye. The room was spacious and so clean, breakfast kept us going till mid afternoon and it was lovely to come back to the hotel later to chill in the bar after walking our feet off. Very happy.
