we travel to europe and london very often and always use the tavistock. the staff are a bit gruff sometimes and the rooms are very basic as is the buffet breakfast but it's always clean and does the job when you need a place to stay in a VERY expensive city. it's very well located close to a tube station so very easy to get around. why spend an exorbitant amount on a commodation when you should be out enjoying the city! not recommended for a romantic trip but for any other occasion think its excellent value

staff were excellent in this great value for money hotel. situated near tube and mainline station at Euston/Euston square easy to get around London's many tourist attractions and nightlife. London city tour buses stop just round the corner if you wish a guided tour

Found the room basic but clean, disappointed on the view but not much can be done about that. It was a very warm, clammy day / night and unfortunately the windows could only be opened about an inch and as a result the room was too warm to get a proper nights sleep
Service from all staff was first class

Nice hotel, sub-par breakfast, wi-fi only works in the lobby, teeny-tiny elevators. But what really got me was that our toilet was in a separate room than the shower and sink. Overall a good location, close to nice parks and Kings Cross, St Pancras, and Euston were all very close by.

My fiancée and I have just returned from a 3 night weekend break in London and I must say I have no complaints about this Hotel, yes it is a bit dated and needs a little bit of a refurbishment but it was clean, the staff were excellent and very friendly and helpful, breakfast was good and there was plenty off it.

The rooms were a little bit on the small side but you don't come to London to sit about in your hotel room all the time!!

The location of this hotel is excellent, its just a short walk from Russell Square underground station where you can get to all the major sites in London and even without that its not far to walk, there is also the Big Bus Tours that leave fro just around the corner and for £31 per person you can hop on and hop off a any of the stops for 2 days great value for money!!!

Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel, yes it is a bit dated and needs a freshen up but for the price that you pay what more could you ask for from a hotel in central London, if you want 5 star luxury in London you are going to have to pay for it!!!

Great value for money, #goodhotel

Room Tip: Ask for a room with aircon if you come in the summer as ours did not have any and was very hot but still a good nights sleep :)
