The hotel is situated very conveniently. Close to bus and underground. The nearby Russel Square station is on the Piccadelly line, which takes you right to Heathrow.
The room and the bathroom are quite small, but they are clean. Breakfast is average, but my wife was missing her youghurt. But all in all, good value for the money.

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for sharing your comments regarding your stay at our Tavistock Hotel. We are pleased to note that overall you enjoyed your stay, our English breakfast, found your room clean and you appreciated our convenient location, only a five minute walk to Russell Square Station, a direct line to Heathrow Airport. Equally, we have forwarded your feedback regarding yoghurt onto our purchasing department for their consideration.

We look forward to welcoming you both back to our Tavistock Hotel again in the near future.

Kind regards,

Stayed here for a 2 night break. Very well situated for Euston Station. Good price for London and included a meal on first night which could be taken in any of the other hotels in group. Room was ready earlier than expected. Third floor room overlooking the park. Didn't experience any traffic noise with windows closed but was a bit warm. Room was basic but clean as was the bathroom. The pubic areas i.e. reception and bar area have been refurbished in 1930's style which was very nice. Hopefully the bedrooms will be refurbished to same standard eventually. Breakfast was good with selection of hot food plus cereal, fruit juice, toast etc. We also ate in the Indian restaurant buffet which we enjoyed. Staff were helpful and friendly.Luggage storage is available on departure for £1 which was very useful and free on arrival. Would stay here again.

Fourth stay here so you can tell I like this hotel! Just stayed on Saturday night.
Arrived at about 11.30 and asked to drop off bags (they provide this service) but actually they could check us in to a room that met my special requests - high floor, refurbished, overlooking the square.
The double bed was a little small but adequate. The rooms are always warm - perhaps a little too warm! Only 2 plug sockets in the room and only 1 was working which was a bit awkward for charging mobile phones.
Bathroom was adequate with plenty of towels and toiletries. The shower temperature was a bit hard to manage.
Breakfast is good as usual - self-service buffet of hot and cold options, tea served to the table. The toast was a little dry though - maybe been under the lights too long?
Took advantage of the luggage store too.
Didn't have much contact with staff but everyone encountered was friendly and efficient.
Overall good facilities for a reasonable price.

Room Tip: High floor, refurbished rooms are best.

Dear Guest,

Many thanks for sharing your kind review regarding your fourth stay at our Tavistock Hotel. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay, our English breakfast adequate, our bathroom adequate, our staff were courteous and efficient and you appreciated our luggage facilities. Equally, our breakfast staff are on hand throughout the breakfast service and would have been able to provide surplus toast, had you requested this at the time. We apologise if one of the sockets in the room was faulty, our housekeeping office is open from 8am to 10pm and would have been able to send an electrician at the time, to carry-out a further investigation.

We hope to be able to welcome you back to our Tavistock Hotel again in the near future.

Kind regards,

Christianna Andrews

I use the Tavistock for my regular visits to the University's Senate House nearby and the surrounding University quarter. It is handy for Russell Square underground station with plenty of restaurants and pubs in the surrounding area.

The hotel is basic but clean; the reception staff are polite and helpful.

The star of the place is the wonderful gentleman in charge of breakfast in the mornings; he is such a pleasant and polite man who makes breakfast at the hotel a pleasure.

Room Tip: Facing Tavistock Square if possible. Try to avoid lower floors at the rear as air-con units are noisy.
