I would not recommend this hotel and would not stay in it again - despite the low rate.
Good Points - Location

Bad Points - Toilet didn't flush mentioned this at reception and she said to just keep trying to press the handle - she couldn't care less and obviously not first time it had been reported. Room was very outdated, balcony door did not seem very secure and handles missing from all the cupboards. Shower not very powerful. Bed was not double bed in size more like a large single

Think twice before booking this hotel!!

I wasn't sure what to expect when booking this Hotel, booked with Hotwire and went with it as it was a good deal but it was a hidden hotel until after booking.

First impression is that the room was dated, and it really is. It will be okay for some people but it is not modern by any stretch, the next biggest thing you'll find is that the room has just had better days, we lost count of things that either didn't fit correctly or were slightly broken or just missing in general. Door handles that either fell off or were missing, a plug socket that wouldn't actually allow a plug to stay in, the balcony door that was damaged and allowed water to seep in underneath and the bathroom which had a pretty large gap in between some of the tiles.... and the toilet which was a big issue. We brought this up with the person on reception and was promised it would be sorted... 3 days later, it had not been. Not impressed!

Other little things that weren't all bad but could have been better was the size of the bed, it was supposed to be a double but it was on the small side for a double, it seemed almost a large single rather then a double, you'll only get two pillows and if they were good that wouldn't be a problem but they didn't really support you that much so it wasn't the most comfortable night sleep. Walls are a tad on the thin side, but I do understand that this isn't really something that can be changed in the location, so not really that bothered by it.

But it's not all bad, location wise absolutely great, quiet little road just off a main road in Earls Court, just far enough away that there's little to no noise from outside other then morning bin collection. Only a minutes walk from lots of food and shops and importantly the tube station, and Earls Court is on three main lines so you can get just about anywhere major in London with little effort at all.

To sum it up, the hotel is fine, if you don't want any thrills then its ok. But despite what the website says, the room I stayed in had not been refurbished, if it was properly clean and everything in full working order I wouldn't have minded the place and would have probably enjoyed it as it is in such a good location, but in reality for a similar price you can find hotels in better condition. If they invest some money on modernising this hotel would be good, but I don't see this happening, and as a result I will be staying somewhere else on my next travel down.

My husband suggested that I break up my long weekly commute, by staying over in London once every 2 weeks to give me a bit of respite from the trains.
I have tried out 3 different hotels near my office, and this one is the best. Great room, all the facilities and friendly staff. Very cosy. I will continue to stay at this small but comfortable hotel for the forseable future.

Room Tip: Make sure the room is not facing a main road as you won't get any sleep unless the hotel has tri...

This hotel was fine. The room was small, but clean, the view was not extra pretty or anything, but cosy and the staff was kind. They were not english, and seemed a little lazy and a little like they didn't want to be where they were. The breakfast was absolutely fine, and the hotel is 3 minutes from a metro station.

I stayed at the Maranton for just a few nights. It is a very small but cosy hotel and the location is perfect, just a few steps from Earl's Court Station. I was completely satisfied with the room and the staff was extremely helpfull and friendly. Will deffinately stay there again.

My daughter and myself stayed at this hotel on 19th September as we attended a concert at the Royal Albert Hall.
The location is perfect for Central London, 5 minutes walk from Earls Court tube station and 20 minutes walk from the Albert Hall.
Upon arrival we were given a front door key in case we returned later than 11.30 which is when the front door gets locked.
Check in was quick and our room was on the top floor (no lift with 6 flights of stairs!)
It was a twin room with a small dressing table, hairdrier, tv and tea and coffee making facilities. But take your own if you want more than one drink each! Only 2 tea bags, 4 sachets of sugar, 2 sachets of coffee and one hot chocolate plus 2 milks.
The room smelt strongly of smoke and the window could not be opened due to the rope for the sash being broken. This had permeated into the bedding so not a pleasant sleeping experience if you like to pull the duvet up to your face!
The shower was effective and hot although the towels were like cardboard.
The breakfast the next morning was continental with a plate of processed cheese and meats aswell as a basket of toast and croissants. Tea was one bag in a large pot for two so it had to stew for a while before being drinkable. There was cereal for those who required it.
All in all, for what we paid for a twin room in central London (£84) we couldnt really complain but little things could improve the stay immensely.

Room Tip: One where the windows open!

We had reservations to stay here for 4 nights. Due to the cancellation policy we had to stay or lose our money. First of all, there is NO lift They should state this in their advertising. The inside reception area is nice but once you get to your room it changes. The picture shows glass shower doors, ours was a moldy, filthy shower curtain. We asked at the desk for another one and were told that they didn't think they had any and had to wait until Monday so they could measure for the curtain although they did replace it on Saturday. The bathroom wall had a hole in it where the plumbing came in. The corners of the bathroom were quite dirty. Their description also states all rooms are beautifully refurbished. This must have been written 20 years ago. The whole room was very worn, chair cushion was so worn that you couldn't reach the desk if you sat in the chair. The chair itself had ragged edges. Carpeting needs cleaning. The pillows were so flat that the one was ripped and the stuffing was coming out. They did replace it after leaving a note asking them to do so. The other pillow was so worn it was like it was disinigrating inside. Don't bother to eat breakfast there, you'll be very disappointed. Not enough to fill you up for an hour. Not your typical English breakfast . They did have cereal. Very difficult to understand the front desk, although they did try and improve things for us, but the rooms need repairing and updating. The only good thing I can say is it is close to the Underground and we found a wonderful place for breakfast and an excellent Indian restaurant down the street.
