“The Best Hotel in England”

The staff were lovely and very helpful. Bedroom and bathroom was on the small side but was comfortable. The dining room was lovely, the breakfast was outstanding. We had dinner in the dinning room on two night and throughly enjoyed the meals. Wi-Fi worked well. Very close to Victoria Street Railway Station and bus depot. Easy walking to Buckingham Palace. Lovely shops on the same street. With a laundrymat just around the corner. The only complaint we had we seen the owner several times and didn't bother to acknowledge us.

Great family run hotel. Close to Victoria station and good restaurants. Very accommodating. They even store our bags for 2 days free of charge when we went north to York. My only complaint is the room was small but that's Europe. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

You can tell that the management had high expectations for the staff to take care of the customer. Same owners for over 25 years, and from the top down they instill in their staff a customer satisfaction mentality. Always smiling, always friendly, and yet reserved and not candy-gushing friendly.

Booked through Expedia. Had friends visiting in London at the same time and they spent about 2/3s what we did per night and had a very unsatisfactory experience. Will definitely stay here again if I am in the same area.

After reading mostly good reviews of the Windermere, our expectations were high. We were not disappointed. You can tell that the hotel staff are dedicated. They were friendly and very helpful. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was also very good, although they could offer a few more options (both on the menu and the continental buffet).
We found the location to be very convenient, being nestled on an attractive quiet street yet only a short walk from Victoria station (and a slightly longer walk to such attractions as Buckingham Palace or Westminster Abbey). We are pretty certain that we will stay here whenever we visit London.

I stayed here for 2 great nights in August, with my teenage daughter and her best friend, our room was called big ben, It was wonderful all the staff were very nice, so helpful, the waitress who seen to us in the mornings was lovely even do she had 2 fussy eaters at our table. There was a fan waiting for us which was great, the room was spotless clean, and the chap at reception was very helpful when we where planning our sight seeing, The hotel is a short walk from Victoria station. It is a small hotel which is why i choose it, it was very quiet just perfect after busy busy days sight seeing.

I booked this hotel for meetings in Victoria. It is about a 15 walk from Victoria station. A nice well maintained building in quiet side street very close to Victoria coach station. It is a small independent hotel and the staff are very welcoming in a small trendy reception. However the hotel is small and the rooms are tiny - as well as stuffy (no ac). They all have fans but very noisy and the fittings are very cheap. The good thing, is that wireless internet is fast and free and I had room service which was good and not overpriced. The room was spotless to be fair!

You can do better in London for £150 per night

Room Tip: Ask for as big a room as you can get - there is no standard size

Stayed one night in lower ground room which wasn't huge but spotlessly clean. Decent toiletries and nice big fluffy towels. Was very warm although the room was supplied with a decent fan. Staff were friendly enough as well. Breakfast I'm afraid was just ok - poached egg was, well it seemed to have challenged the chef! Nice area with lots of good pubs and restaurants within walking distance.

Dear trevannie

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments with us via Trip Advisor. I am sorry to read that the poached egg was not to your satisfaction. I wish you had shared your comment with us whilst you were here. I will investigate into the matter to ensure that we continue with our high breakfast standards.

I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us, in particular our luxury toiletries.

I hope to welcome you back to The Windermere when you are next in London.

Kindest regards

Emily Hambi, The Windermere
