“Nice hotel”

We stayed for seven days in early June, had some problems about the reservation but the front desk helped me. Front desk and concierge were very helpful. good location. Try Fratelli restaurant breakfast, very delicious.

On a recent stopover in London, during the busy time in London calendar, I was lucky enough to get a reservation at this hotel. Located in the leafy suburb of Maida vale, just a few minutes by tube from Paddington station and also a short bus ride away from Victoria, No 16 bus, it is one of the mot comfortable hotels I have stayed in.
First of all the staff, I had been lucky to have met Jaewon Baek who is at the front desk who assigned me a good room, with access to Executive Lounge. The ladies in attendance at Executive Lounge were all from eastern europe as is the case these days in London and I particularly remember Ana from Roumanie. It was nice to spend a little time sipping wine in the evening at the lounge. At the breakfast table, I chatted with a pleasant man from Mindanao in the Philippines
The room was spacious to say the least and the bed most comfortable.

Room Tip: It helps if you are a Gold Elite of Marriott Rewards since that gives you access to the Executive Lo...

Stayed for 4 nights in late April/early May. It was a bit crowded in the the room with three adults, but the room size would be fine for a couple. We had access to the executive lounge, which was great for keeping breakfast and dinner expenses low. The King bed in the room was very comfortable, but the comfort of the roll-away bed could be improved. Front desk and concierge were very helpful guiding us in and around London. We heard little if any road noise during our stay on the 6th floor (of 7). Internet access was very good and included in the price for Marriott Gold members. There is complimentary access to a very nice pool/sauna/spa/workout area next door to the hotel with interior access.

Often stay at this hotel on London business trips.

It's a Marriott and lives up to their standards. Rooms a decent size, could do with a face lift however.

Bar area nice, good selection of drinks with a typical bar food menu.

Exec lounge decent.

It's my second choice hotel when in London on business ... The only reason it's 2nd choice (rather than 1st) is that it's a few miles from my office (my 1st choice being a walk across a road). Saying that, short taxi journey so it works.

One of the less expensive Marriotts, but still not cheap. 5 minute walk to Bakerloo line/Kilburn Park stop of 10-15 minute walk through nice neighborhood to Maida Vale stop. About a 10-15 minute walk from Abbey Road Studios. Fun to hang out on the corner and watch everyone crossing the street and trying to get photos! The swimming pool is not in the hotel but at a club around the corner, so we didn't use it. The Executive Suite for Marriott members was very nice and had hors d'oeuvres, drinks, breakfast every day with a very friendly staff. Everyone that worked there was nice. We had a small dinner/drinks in the bar one night and it was good. We had dessert in Fratelli's, the attached restaurant, one evening and a very small slice w/small scoop of ice cream was 7.15 pounds (with service charge). Kind of spendy. Lots of randoms stores and small restaurants around, definitely an ethnic neighborhood as it's next to the Islamic center. Couple of pubs, a small Indian Curry restaurant that we didn't have time to try but it looked good, a Starbucks and couple other coffee shops up the street, a Persian restaurant across the street that also looked good, and a few local markets with fresh fruit and other goods.

It was a usual Marriott room, very nice. But the only weird thing to us was the bathtub. It was about a foot off the ground, and the top edge of it was about 2' off the ground so you had to step high to get in it. It was very narrow and rounded on the inside. I felt like I had to keep my feet close together just to stand safely in it because of the slope and angle, so I was scared of slipping. There was no bathmat in it, and it definitely was slippery. You also had to keep both the shower curtain liner and outside curtain (both fabric) inside the tub to avoid a puddle. If you're by yourself, get an extra room card to keep inside as you have to plug that into the wall to keep the lights on.

There was also a weird thing on the wall that looked like a blow dryer but you could only plug in your electric shaver to it. There was a regular blow dryer out in the desk drawer, and that was the only place you could plug it it. So I ended up doing hair/makeup at the desk instead of bathroom.

Room Tip: Ask for upper floors as there are ambulances and police cars going by 24/7, but it's not bad. If...

Nice large rooms and a pleasant attentive staff. Outside of city center. Five minutes walk to tube (approx. 15 minutes to Piccadilly). Good value for money on the room but poor value for money on served breakfast e.g. selection of bread (had the full buffet).

This hotel is easily accessed by tube (Kilburn Park not Maida Vale or Kilburn High Street) and there are many buses that stop either just past the hotel or a block away, that will take you to all parts of the city. It is about 15 min to Oxford St on the Bakerloo Line. Great if you are going to the theatre in the West End and are out a little later at night. There is a Starbucks about 100 m away. We felt quite safe in the area.

There is an Executive Lounge with breakfast (eggs, bacon, sausages, cold cuts, hot and cold cereal, fruit, breads, etc). It also serves an afternoon snack and evening appies with wine and beer except on Fri, Sat & Sun. They will give you complimentary beer or wine in the bar on these days during the reception time, if you ask. Service staff in the lounge were good, some of the patrons not so. They acknowledged our Gold status with a bottle of water and a box of cookies.

The hotel is showing its age and could use a facelift. Our room overlooked the courtyard and the hallway really smelled musty, however, the room did not. There is the usual tea/coffee/kettle and a fridge. The taps in the bath tub were a bit of a challenge. We were able to leave our larger luggage with the bell station when we took a 2-day excursion out of London, which was a great help.

The staff seemed anxious to please and I would stay here again if it remained a good value.

Room Tip: Top floor near the centre of the building
