I liked this hotel; it was my first trip to London and I traveled with another female. We stayed 2 nights here the first week of April 2014. The hotel was pretty easy to get to from the Tube. If I remember correctly we took the Heathrow Express to Paddington Station and then took the Bakerloo line to Kilburn Park (we may have had to connect with the Circle line, I can't remember..to get from Paddinton to Bakerloo???? check with the London Tube website to confirm) (do not take the Maida Vale station it is too far away)...from the Kilburn Park station exit the Tube and take a left, walk a little ways maybe 2 blocks?, then at the next main intersection take a right and the hotel will be down about 1 block? on the left. We had no problem taking the Tube it was clean and very easy. We felt safe in this area during the day; however at night we did not walk from the Kilburn Park station as it was very dark and the thought of doing it made us uncomfortable. We opted to take a taxi home, but you could have taken the over-ground bus as well. When you exit the hotel and take a right, the bus station and Starbuck is about 1 block down. The double decker bus is also pretty easy to navigate (it is little more complicated then the Tube), but totally doable.
The hotel staff was very nice and helpful - they gave us maps, told us about the bus and a couple of good places to go, and they set up a very early morning cab pickup to Heathrow for our departure. The hotel room was huge; we did not use the kitchen facilities, but they seemed adaquate. Our room also had a separate living room that we sat in once or twice - really it was actually much larger then we needed. The bed was nice and the bathroom was sufficient; the bathroom could use more counter space and better lighting. We did not pay cash for this hotel...my friend's husband used Marriott points for our stay, but I would definitely stay here again. The area is very culturally diverse and I thought it was very interesting. It had a large variety of authentic restaurants...just down the street from this hotel is the Islamic Center of England and across the street from that is a very good restaurant; I'm not sure if it was Lebanese or Greek? but the food was very good. They had a few tables outside a tavern type of building. We ordered a plate of food and several types of meat, the meat was grilled outside on a BBQ and came with bread, feta cheese, etc. we were not 100% sure exactly what we were eating but it was very good. There is also a Persian restaurant a about 100 yards from there and we heard it was good, but we did not try it. Overall I was very happy with this hotel; the only thing that would be of concern is walking from the Kilburn Park station when it is dark outside...
