“Low standard I'm afraid”
Reviewed 14 May 2014 via mobile

I was expecting much more for the money, moreover on that area of London. Horribly decorated room, ferry-cabin-like bathroom, noisy, poor quality matrices.. I hope tomorrow's breakfast is above average. I will not repeat.

The house is an Victorian house transformed into a hotel. The area is residential and quiet but there is no nearby groceries or outlets. It's a bit of a walk to the tube station with a slope which might be difficult with bags. The walk takes about 10-15 minutes; you can keep yourself busy counting house numbers. Reception of the hotel is closed at night. The receptionist was very helpful and greets the new comers by a glass of juice. He helped me printing a couple of papers. I booked through booking.com the last available single room. I was not aware that the bathroom was not ensuite but rather in a small slit in front of the room for personal use. I tried with the hotel to get another ensuite room; they offered it with a rack rate of 75 pounds rather than online rate of 65. I refused. The bathroom whether inside or outside the room is add on fitted cubicle (which was mimicked to a vertical coffin. It's 1X1 meter or less with a toilet seat , sink and shower. It is really crumbled together and uneasy to dress or undress. The tubes of shower was leaking every where. You can hardly keep a balance of the water temperature; it swings rapidly from very hot to very cold! What an experience!
The room itself is very small and with a single bed , small cupboard, and very small table with a kettle (Tea&Coffee bags) TV was mounted across the wall. Walls are very thin and I could clearly hear the snoring of my neighbours. Wooden stairs squeak with people coming up or down.
Internet access is OK everywhere.
Breakfast is adequate with fruit and cereal bar, yogourts, eggs done to your preference, cheeses and jams. Tea or coffee. The breakfast room is on the ground floor overlooking a very nice Garden. In case you might need drinks or food, bring your needs from Whismith or the fruit stall in the tube station.

Room Tip: Stairs are high. Get ready to carry your bags for one or two floors.

We stayed four nights recently and would stay again if we were in London. The room was spotlessly clean, breakfast made to order, lovely area and beside tube station for getting in to London to see the sights.

I stay in this hotel 2 nights and i must say that was a very good residence.
A very best good quality price
The room was clean and quiet, breakfast cooked to order and delicious, and the staff were all really welcoming. They help me during 20 mn to do my itinary program.
I will return next time if i am in the area.

I expected this to be a bit of a dump as it was so reasonably priced, but I was wrong. The room was clean, breakfast cooked to order and delicious, and the staff were all really welcoming. will return next time I am in the area.
not used to having light outside at night but that is not their fault!

Me and my family stayed four nights in this nice hotel in Finchley Road, I must say that we were very pleased, excellent management, excellent cleanliness and the breakfast really good. The area is very nice, quiet, elegant, and well served by the tube station and the busses to get to the center of London. Hotel very highly recommended!

If you want to feel like a battery hen, in a cramped room, sleep on a hard bed, hear the guests next door through the thin walls, and use a bathroom which resembles a plastic upright coffin, but smaller - then this is the hotel for you.

The decor is tired and very wornout throughout the hotel. There's no smile on being greeted by the staff on arrival. Some of the bedroom furniture looks as though it's been collected from an old house clearance - we had to move rooms before I nearly cried with misery and the furniture/decor happens to vary from room to room. The beds are simply cheap, hard and hollow - nothing sumptuous or comforting about these at all. The bathroom, however, is the worst horror. It's a plastic box fitted into the corner of each room and basin/loo/shower are within inches of eachother causing a feeling of utter claustrophobia (even if you don't suffer from that affliction) your only possible company was the mould in every nook and cranny. The walls - especially the ones used to cut in half what would have been a decent sized room from bygone years when this was a house, are thin and you can hear every movement and cough from fellow sufferers, I mean guests. The breakfast is average and on the whole, the hotel is clean. But overall, this overnight experience was not good and I would never go there again. Never. Well overpriced for what you get - even in London.

Room Tip: Choose another hotel.
