“A Little gem”
Reviewed 11 May 2014

Within a 10 minute walk of the Moran hotel. A palladium house run by English heritage- well worth a visit as are the acres of gardens. A true gem

“Lovely”
Reviewed 5 May 2014

Despite having lived not too far away for many years, had not visited this lovely place. Glorious sunny day may have helped, but grounds (a public park) are well kept and very accessible. Could easily forget you are in a busy corner of London. Didn't have time to go into the house, but cafe seves a very delicious cup of coffee.

“Try it out”
Reviewed 24 April 2014

Live locally but never been so decided on last minute. The House is nice but empty. It lacks character and there is not much to see, only the garden is the best bit. In comparison with Ham House nearby, it is a waste of time and money.

“Delightful!”
Reviewed 22 April 2014 via mobile

We did not go inside the house but were delighted by the gardens and landscaping. Entrance is free and after recently paying extravagantly to get into the run down Borde Hill Gardens, these were a wonderful surprise. The area by the immaculate conservatory was our favourite and the cafe is great (again ten times better than Borde Hill). Sad to see a lot of the boxus has been ravaged by blight.

“Nice Setting for a short visit”
Reviewed 20 April 2014

Chiswick House is something of a side-show for the impressive Chiswick Gardens. The gardens are open to the public (and their dogs), and worth a visit in their own right. The house only justifies a short visit, but free entry for English Heritage Members helps to justify the high cost of membership.

The audio tour of the house is quite challenging, as its designed to be followed sequentially, with few points to jump in or out, so its a bit too regimented - and difficult to find your place if you want to go at your own pace.

At least the staff are friendly, and didn't seem to suffer the general problems with English Heritage sites of overselling the annual pass and causing delays as a result.
