Owner description: Most of this iconic building was built in the mid-19th century following a devastating fire in 1834. Westminster Hall survived the fire and dates from 1097. Visitors can book tours through the House of Commons and the House of Lords, and are welcome to watch debates and committees when the Houses are sitting..

Guided tour which gives you an excellent insight to the houses of parliament and the historical reasons why so much of the things we see today happen

One of the more beautiful parliaments that I've seen. Right on the River Thames. Just make sure you visit at the right time to take photos as if the sun is in the wrong position it is hard to take a good photo

Try to arrange a visit through you Member of Parliament ( if UK citizen ) as it's free but even if you are paying still worth it. The building is steeped in history but unfortunately the guides can only a brief overview of the it's many features. Not to be missed !!!!

I saw Parliament with a personal guide who was the former head of security. He was wonderful - full of anecdotes and a true love of history.
