This actual tour is deserving of a 5-Star rating without doubt. Such history stretching back far beyond the 19th Century period of the current Palace of Westminster.
The building is a quite magnificent defiance made even more appealing by the fact that it is a true working environment and not just show.
The Guide we had was of quite outstanding quality - deeply knowledgeable, irreverent and philosophical in respect of the political systems past and present!
Now for the advance ticketing system. We booked our guided tour well in advance with no problems other than the total lack of instruction or direction about where to collect the tickets from or how to enter the Palace. I researched via the internet a found a few pointers from other disgruntled advance bookers. This didn't help and it was only helpful policemen who put us right!
Even when we joined the entrance queue, having finally picked up the tickets,m&e almost missed our allotted tour time as there was no pointer to the fact that the queue contained many who had later tours. We barged to the front and were promptly told that we were late! Hopeless - the staff seeing us in agreed.
Fantastic place to visit but the advance ticketing is unbelievably badly organised!
