Free entry, small but very good museum. Learn all about the origins of the bank, how gold is marked and stored, hold a real gold bar. Reasonably priced gift shop not the usual tourist tat. Lots of exhibits and fun activities for children. Well worth a visit.

Took my mum and 10 year old son to this museum and we all had a great time.
It is only a small museum and kept us amused for about an hour. The staff are really friendly and there is a quiz sheet for children with a prize at the end.
There are lots of interactive things to do, such as cracking a safe, trying to lift a real gold bar and checking your money for forgeries.
It is a free museum and well worth a visit.

This is a great museum to spend a couple of hours in.

Really interesting and informative. The audio tour is great and there are lots of interactive things to do. It's a shame the note gallery was not open (should be in September 2016). Totally free and well worth the trip.

Went Friday morning and it was very quiet. Not open on weekends (which is a shame).

The museum tells the fascinating story of the Bank from when it was its founded in 1694 to its role today as the regulator of interest rates and issuer of banknotes.

You will be astonished at the historical displays include the Bank's own collections of books, documents, silver, prints, paintings, banknotes, coins and photographs. An amazing compendium of the bank's history.

There is a also a display of gold, including Roman and modern gold bars, alongside pikes and muskets once used to defend the Bank. There is also a selection of talks for adults.

My " review title " should be heeded because I really think that a minimum age for kids to really interact with this great attraction is 11! Anything under and I personally believe the impact would be minimal. My opinion only.My 6 year old Grandson who was really looking forward to the visit was underwhelmed by the the exhibition.
