Another place you can visit while walking up Whitehall. Worth stopping and having a look any time of the year, not just on 11th November.

Located in the middle of Whitehall with traffic passing on either side and adjacent to Downing Street, a visit to the war memorial makes for a moving experience. Not your average run of the mill tourist attraction but a place of deep significance to those with historic ties with Britain or an interest in modern history. Well worth a visit if you are interested in monuments of this kind.

Walking along Whitehall this is one of the sites that you can get a closer look at on foot. Anybody who has ever seen the Remembrance Sunday ceremonial will understand the significance of this monument.

Any connected to the Forces should try to attend on Remembrance Sunday. I was lucky enough to be in the Parade, and found the experience very moving and it made me proud of our heritage.

What a shame that the Cenotaph was under renovation when we got there. However, this should not be missed by any history buff.
