There's really not much to see here. Just a quick glance through the wrought iron fencing to the street where #10 sits. It's not like you can even look at the house head-on.

30 years ago you could walk up here as a tourist and take photographs of the front door; those days are long gone. Now you would be lucky to a get a long range photo through the metal gates.

Yet you still get protest groups and tourists hanging around the gate entrance, but I do not know what for.

If you're in the area visiting Big Ben, Parliament, and Westminster Abbey then it's worth a look to stroll down to Downing St to see the famous #10 building where the Prime Minister lives. You can't go in, and it is heavily guarded and gated but if you're in the area I wouldn't spend more than 10 minutes there snapping some photos of his residence. It's nothing special, grand or opulent. It stands out only because it is the only building painted in all black, and houses the family of the Prime Minister. You can strike up some conversation with the guards outside, and they can give you some historical background and insight but that's about it.

Not much to see but is worth checking out if near by. When we were there the gates opened to allow private vehicles through which was quite an event.
