Owner description: There's a world of enjoyment at Battersea Park Children's Zoo. From feeding the farm animals, spying on the meerkats in the secret lookout, children will have hours of fun. With monkeys, snakes, pigs, donkeys, ring tailed lemurs, parrots, rabbits, emu, chipmunks, coati, wallabies and chickens, plus a fun-packed adventure playground with a real tractor and fire engine, it's a great family day out.

“Great morning out for toddlers”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 August 2013

We are just back from our third visit to Battersea Park Children's Zoo with our 2 year old and now with our newborn also. Agree with previous reviews which mention that this is quite an overpriced morning out, especially as it is the only attraction I have been to in London that charges child price for 2 and over (rather than 4+). Be sure to pick up a 2-for-1 voucher and it makes it much more affordable.
A small selection of small animals to look at ... perhaps rather uninteresting for older children and adults but brilliant for little kids - my daughter adores the small zoo! There are also some brilliant playground and water/sand areas. We'll definitely make another morning of it.

“Poor Value for Money”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 August 2013

Very disappointed with this visit-the range of animals; the state of the attractions and the cramped cafe gave it the feel of a small provincial zoo, not a central London attraction.

Overpriced by about 75%.

It is always disappointing to receive a poor review. However we are pleased that you thought we were not a central London attraction - we are a CHILDREN'S zoo not a state of the art celebrity status symbol.
As such we aim to encourage children to respect and understand the beautiful animals that share our planet in a peaceful, not high profile, setting. The animals and birds at the zoo are chosen for their size and appeal so not frighten or scare our young visitors.
As I sure you are aware all the animals and birds are on specialised diets and are cared for by a team of experienced keepers. It is not possible to reduce the entrance price and maintain the care and health of the animals.
Unlike bigger zoos we are not a charity and do not receive any funding from the public purse.

We also fund comprehensive education and conservation programmes

“super place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 August 2013 via mobile

A surprise visit with family to a small animal zoo, with lots of healthy, happy exhibits. Apart from the obligatory shop, and a small cafe, there were children's swings, a lake with motorised boats, and a stupendous adventure playground using physics to enhance play with sand and water. Archimedes screw, pulleys, and so on, a super place that did not seem to be sponsored by any organisation. You can walk through the park to get there, very pleasant, and after visit the peace pagoda, another amazing find. A very pleasant couple of hours.

“Overpriced”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 June 2013

It's a nice small zoo for toddlers. There are not a lot of animals, and you can walk around it in 10 minutes and see them all. Now, with a toddler, you could stretch if over an hour or two, and let them hang around in the playground.
We visited with our sons, aged 9 and 11. We paid 28 pounds for the visit, and frankly, we felt ripped off. I think a fair price would have been half of that, for the four of us. I really do think they should have some sort of system where older children pay less, and accompanying adults get in for free or for a much cheaper rate.
Coffee was priced at 2 pounds, and that was for a cup from a vending machine. Too much, IMO, considering how much we paid to get inside.
Again, other than the price, it was really ok. It was clean, not too crowded (on a Saturday), and the animals looked well taken care of.

Thank you for your recent review.
We do have more than 150 animals, birds and reptiles at the zoo from over 50 different species including meerkats, squirrel monkeys, capuchins, lemurs, otters, tamarins - both Emperor and Cotton top. donkeys, pony etc etc.

The entrance fee reflects the cost of all the specialised diets and numbers of keepers required to care for them - as you said "they look well taken care of ".

The adventure playground is well used by all children not just toddlers and indeed many adults in particular the huge spider nets and fire engine.

Most of our visitors enjoy their time with us but again thank you for your views and we will keep in mind your comments.

“Battersea zoo is the best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 May 2013

My granddaughter loves going and it's a day out for us. My son is coming to London with his family this weekend and we are going. We went to London zoo two weeks ago and found it very expenses and nothing for the kids to do. If the children come out happy then it's worth every penny
