Owner description: Leadenhall is a thriving Victorian covered retail centre with a wide range of goods on sale. Its cobbled walkways and glass roof make it an attractive place to shop, eat and drink or simply to relax. Famous visitors include John Wayne, Clint Eastwood and Harry Potter.

We stopped at Leadenhall Market because of it's roll as part of Diagon Alley in the first Harry Potter film, including the stop at the "door" from the original Leaky Cauldron. We didn't go into the shops themselves as we knew them to be expensive, but did get in a few touristy shots before continuing on our way. The buildings themselves are beautiful.

So, I know London is expensive. We wanted to see leadenhall market, and believe me it is beautiful! I only wish we didn't go there starving. We ate lunch at a butcher shop with seating right in the aisles of the market. For 3 burgers and 1 grilled chicken breast, all with fries, the bill was over $100.00 USD. That would have been okay if they were crazy awesome burgers or something but really, they weren't. We were sad we wasted the time and money. So, eat some awesome and cheap street food and then head to leadenhall to take some pictures!!!

This is the most elegant market I have ever been to and is well worth the visit if you are a fan of Harry Potter. It looks just like a little bit of Diagon Alley.

We took a coach tour of London and they pointed out Leadenhall Market as the location of part of the filming in Harry Potter. Of course, the students wanted to go check it out. We went at lunch time and the place was busy with all the business men and women grabbing lunch and an ale. There was a band playing and a few carnival games going on. Everyone in our group was able to find something to eat. There were sandwiches, sushi, salad and pizza shops mixed in with a few traditional shops. Overall, my group really enjoyed soaking in the atmosphere.

Went here because I am one of Harry Potter fans :) The place were really noisy, lots of people around especially in lunch time. The building is really beautiful, Victorian style. Worth a visit. Nearest tube station: Monument.
