Invited to evening on the Orient Express, for a trip around Kent etc for Dinner, and try ad solve a Murder Mystery.

Our coach Pheonix, was very attractive in authenic Choc/Cream livery and we were shown to a table with two armchairs as our seats. essentially as a party of seven we feared the seating plan would have been tough, but it worked well

The food was good, service probably better and some of the best we have had. Great wines and a very entertaining evening arriving back at Victoria 4 hours after we left with a warm glow

a great evening

If you ever want to be spoil yourself or someone special while travelling around the British countryside you can't go too far wrong than booking a British Pullman brunch. From arriving at the station to board your train until the time when you finally leave you are treated like royalty. The staff are all very well presented and courteous throughout.

Upon arriving at the station you check in, which takes seconds where you are allocated your coach & seat number. You are then offered a cup of tea or coffee while you wait for the train to arrive. If you want to wait in the lounge area I would suggest getting to check in as it opens as the lounge is quite small and fills up quickly. You can however wait outside and watch the world go by by if you wish.

On board the train you are shown to your extremely comfy armchair in one of many original Pullman carriages which are all slightly different in terms of style and layout. After your meal it's well worth having a wonder along the train to have a look at the other coaches.

As you leave the station you are personally welcomed on board by the train manager how walks through introducing himself to you and making sure that you are happy with everything and if there is anything else the staff can do for you.

The food is served silver service and is very tasty indeed. It's hard to imagine the chefs being able to produce such great food in tight conditions within the kitchen areas but somehow they manage it. Well done and thank you.

As you travel through the countryside the crew are always at hand if you require anything and are more than willing to help in any way.

For us the 3 hours went by far too quick and we would have loved to have stayed on longer. But all good things must come to an end sometime I suppose. Upon arriving at Victoria there was no mad scrum to disembark from the train and we weren't pushed off either. We were left to sit and enjoy the last few minutes before we all went on our journeys back home.

Thank you very much for a wonderfull brunch.

We had a wonderful day in the Pheonix carriage on 20th Feb 2015 when 4 of us went on the muder mystery lunch. 4.5 hours on the train with a 5 course lunch and the added fun of actors appearing now and again to give you clues to a murder!

The actors were very good at bringing fun to the occasion even if they perhaps adopted their 1930's persona and non-PC attitudes a little strongly, though it was all in jest and they were good at reading each table and the people at it and the level to pitch the scene at (not very high in our case!). I won't give away the murder answer (and I think they change it anyway), but it was an added bonus when we got the right answer in our carriage and won the champagne! (yay the working middle classes).

The food was fantastic and I can recommend upgrading the wine to the sommelier selection for each course if your budget will stretch to it (+£42 per person while onboard).

Service was also excellent, they could not do enough for you.

As others have mentioned the louge only has one toilet so large queues ensued. But 4 doors down off platform 2 there is a public loo you just need 30p to get in!

If you are travelling as 3 or 4 I recommend putting in a request on booking for a coupe for whatever carriage you are in which is a little more private.

Thank you very much for your post!

It is always a delight to read such lovely compliments. Be sure they will be shared with our on-board team but also the actors working to make your Murder Mystery Lunch a special moment.

Once again thank you for travelling with us and we hope to welcome you back shortly.
