This is a great place to visit! You MUST use the audio guides because they enhance the tour! They are included in the admission.
The Mews is small in size but has plenty to see. It's actually a nice break from large scale museums that require lots of walking and time.
I disagree with statements that it is boring for kids. My KIDS, 12 and 10 enjoyed the visit. It's not Harry Potter, but The Mews does a great job capturing everyone's attention. That's what really drew my kids in! There is a little children's room with coloring activities for small kids.
The guide has options: child or adult tour. It has different languages to select. The device is interactive! You can take a 360 look at the interior of some carriages on its screen.
Also, the audio guide points out little details that aren't on the signs.
There's a dress up section and a wooden pony with hair to brush. You can't mount it.
My son tried.
We caught the end of the guided tour in golden carriage room. Employees are very helpful and informative.
There is a gift shop with items for kids and adults. Some things were on sale. I got a mug commemorating the birth of Prince Louis.
Oh, you can validate your tickets and return for free within a year! I wish we were local bc we'd return!
