no one there on arrival, had to wait 20 mins for anyone to serve us, got 2 twins beds instead of the double we paid for. freezing rooms, uncomfortable beds (unclean) and builders in, making a racket. (And they do NOT preauthorise cards when details are taken on line so have cash on your person to pay.)

We booked a family room (5 beds) which came at a premium, and we were disappointed to find it in the basement, rather damp walled, shabby bathroom with rattling fan, no towels, a broken towel rail and tv only viewable from the top bunk.
On the plus side, the sheets were clean and the room was quiet. It would have been a good room at say 120gbp, but not at 50 bucks more. I guess it's a location thing, there is no incentive to keep the rooms in perfect repair so long as its clean and functional...

Room Tip: Family room is in basement and a bit shabby. Rooms upstairs may be better as its a converted Georgian house.

The only thing Belgravia room has going for it is it's handy location just a block from the bus station. Our room was on the top floor and we were offered no help carrying our bags up the narrow stair case. Our room was clean, however the bathroom in the room itself was to tiny the toilet was in the shower. Tried to use the toilet down the stairs however it neither flushed nor had toilet paper available and when I went to wash my hands there was no soap either, despite this they did appear to be clean.
I don't like to run a place down but when you're paying to stay somewhere the least you expect is a little bit of service and upkeep to make your money worth while. This was the 5th place we'd stayed in both London and the uk and its safe to for similar prices we had gotten a lot more, both in comfort and service.
