In fairness, we only spent 5 hours in this hotel, but if you are like us, looking for a place to drop your things, or to put your feet up for a few hours during an overnight stopover in London, then this place is perfect!
We landed in the early evening on our way to Seattle and wanted to spend a fun night in London. We planned to take the Heatrow Express to Paddington, so chose this hotel, recommended by our travel agent, because of its location. The location is perfect , two minutes walk from the station.
In the end we went straight from Heathrow on a regular train and really enjoyed ourselves. We carried our overnight stuff in small backpacks and noted many tourists dragging their hand-luggage on wheels or on their backs.
We checked into the hotel at around 3.00 am and were efficiently received in the next-door hotel reception who gave us keys and directions to our room.
Our room was on the fourth floor with a private bathroom. After walking around London for hours, a few floors of stairs didn't bother us. The room was exactly what we needed - clean! The bed was terrible! Lumpy mattress of he poorest quality, probably decades old. The bathroom was about the size of a normal closet! But we managed a quick welcome hot shower and then collapsed on that bed. In the moning we virtually rolled out of bed ino Paddington, well rested and ready for our next flight.
If we were looking for more than a bare minimum hotel, this would not suffice, but then the price would skyrocket accordingly....

Spent a few nights here. Room in need of some tlc but clean and spacious for a London hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and were very attentative and helpful when necessary. The location is excellent , just a hop skip and a jump from paddington where there are plenty of bars, cafés and restaurants of all cuisines. Central London very easily accessible via tube just a block away. Would happily stay here again.

Room Tip: Room 6 and 7 are on the front. Big French windows making the room bright and airy

We chose this hotel for its location and cheap price and we got exactly want we expected. It´s really OK for couple of nights or for a long weekend. Just a block from Paddington station and Hyde park is really close as well (good for those who enjoy morning walks/runs). It was clean and shower worked well, we got clean towels and noises from the street didn´t bother us. We might stay there again.

I recently spent one night here (but stayed for a few days last summer). Being a one star, both the toilet and the shower room are shared. The room was small but clean enough. The best things about it is that for London it's cheap and the location, near central London, is great (which is what I'm really after). It's only five minutes from Lancaster Gate tube and Paddington is also close. In the streets around Paddington station there are plenty of shops, cafés and restaurants.

Despite the nice smile of a very australian sounding lady at the desk: don't expect much more in this hotel but two beds. Defective lightbulbs, unsound looking electrical wiring, a chest for clothing just still standing upright, a non-connected television set from the 70s.
The free wifi in the lobby came as a pleasant surprise. The payphone in the hotel was out of service and no alternative was offered after my mobile crashed and I had to contact someone urgently. Is this value for money? Undoubtably not, but disturbingly compared to other adresses in London it might prove to be not bad at all.

Had read previous reviews expected the worst. Decor was dated, shared bathroom and toilet but these were clean enough. Clean sheets bed comfortable. Only stayed one night any longer it may not be suitable as is basic.
