The location of this hotel in London couldn't be more convenient! Just a few blocks from Westminster Abbey, Big Ben and St. James Park, we appreciated how close everything was to this hotel! We walked a bunch and were also able to get on the Tube quickly or grab a cab very easily in this location. The hotel was clean and quiet and the bed was very comfortable. We had an evening meal (roast beef with potatoes) and a beer in the bar downstairs on the first night and it was very good. If we came back to London, we would definitely consider staying here again.

Dear Chalice and Chris,

It is so lovely to hear you had such a wonderful stay, it is true our location is second to non, Westminster is the heart of this great city and the whole of London is connected to it making it very easy to get to anywhere you would like to go.
We look forward to your return journey to our Sanctuary and do not forget our roasts are always served on Sundays. Wish you well.

Kind regards,

Stayed for 2 nights and would have liked to stay longer. The whole hotel was spotlessly clean and our room was great. Lovely comfy bed with gorgeous bedding. 1st class breakfasts are served in the bar downstairs which is a great place. Had an evening meal in the bar which was delicious. Great atmosphere. Will definitely be returning.

My husband and I stayed here recently for a week and overall have very positive things to say. Our room was spacious (we chose a Superior room) with a large bathroom. It was clean and the bed was very comfortable: firm but not hard. There were nice touches: a teakettle and cookies, nightly turndown service, a heated towel rack, and a mini-fridge with bottled water provided daily.

The reception staff were very courteous and friendly and were helpful with requests for local information, printing boarding passes, calling a taxi to the airport when we left, etc.

Breakfast was included in our room rate and it was quite good with many choices. We ate in the pub one evening, but it was not so good--mediocre food and inattentive service.

Regarding location, as others have noted, the hotel is quite central: a very short walk to many major attractions, beautiful St. James Park, and two tube stops. All in all, a terrific spot; our only small quibble is that there are not a lot of different kinds of restaurants in the immediate vicinity.

Our room was on the front of the hotel which was a bit noisy. We asked about switching, but there was no availability on our first night, and we did not ask again as we didn't want to bother moving after unpacking. Next time we'd request to be away from the front.

All in all, an excellent small hotel at a good value for a central London accommodation.

Dear hotel guest,

Thank you for your nice review. It is so lovely to hear how great our reception team was when it came to helping you enjoy your holiday to its full potential and it pleases me, how you appreciated every little detail of what we offer.
It is then very unfortunate that your dinner experience did not feel it was to the same standards as breakfast; however I am sure that on your next visit you will receive engaging service along with delicious food from our new summer menu.
We hope to see you in the near future.

I am writing this with misgivings, in case the hotel gets too popular and things change. But as the high standard has been maintained during our several visits over a number of years, I don't think I need to worry.

We stayed for 7 nights for a holiday in London. We had a lovely corner room with a huge, comfortable bed. The room was maintained to a spotless standard throughout our stay. Naturally, as we were staying for a whole week, the staff got to know our faces and acknowledged us in the hotel and the pub below. But it was wonderful to be greeted on arrival by the receptionist saying "welcome back. How nice you are here for so long this time."

In the room is a questionnaire asking if there is a member of staff to nominate as going the extra mile. We did not fill it in, because every member of staff we had dealings with was excellent and we could not single one out.

We must mention the food. The breakfasts are of excellent quality; no compromises are made here. The smoked salmon is top quality, as are the bacon and sausages.

And I haven't even mentioned the location, which is ideal for the London holiday maker.

Sol, I don't know how you manage to keep the team so obviously happy and committed, but however you do it, don't change a thing!

Dear hotel guest,

Thank you very much for leaving such a lovely review. The staff will be very happy to read your comments about their hard work and dedication and how it all came together to provide you with yet another satisfying holiday.
On top of the great service you received it wouldn’t mean much without top quality products to back it up that’s why our head chef always makes sure he buys the best quality ingredients so that breakfast lunch and dinner are consistently delicious.
I would just like to add one more comment, it is true that I am always proud when we receive a positive review however when I read yours it truly hit home that after a decade of hard work it is now paying dividends, and I will make sure that these high standards will be kept for as long as I’m here.
We look very much forward to your next holiday.

Kind regards,

Very nice hotel in a very central location, rooms are boutique style and very well looked after, this hotel has charm as well with creaking floors as any beautiful Victorian building should. The staff here are helpful and caring all in all a well run hotel and worth staying at when in central London.

Dear Paul,

Thank you for your lovely review. It is harder than it may seem at first glance to balance our historic Victorian building with all the modern day appliances that we are accustomed to, so it means a lot that you noticed the hard work we have put into keeping true to our routs and offering everything and more that one might expect from a hotel.
We look forward to your next stay.

Kind Regards.

Stayed here for 4 nights in April. A couple of minutes walk in one direction to st james's park tube and st james's park and in the other direction to Westminster tube, Westminster --Abbey, big Ben, Whitehall, the eye. In 15 minutes you could walk to the west end theatres, to buckingham palace, festival hall. So a very handy location. We had a room facing the side street which was good as the front rooms face a street with lots of tour buses. The room was very nicely done out,the bathroom was tiny but modern and had a heated towel drier which was brilliant for drying our washing. The staff were helpful. The pub on the ground floor was very nice and there were several cafes nearby. Would certainly stay here again.

Room Tip: Room facing side street.

The hotel is a little hard to find and navigate - it's tucked away on a side street and the lobby is on the second floor, which is not immediately obvious when you get there. The hotel is clean and modern though, and our room was extremely quiet and comfortable. The location was amazing, as we were in close walking distance of many attractions: Westminster Abbey, London Eye, St. James Park. I've seen mixed reviews about the food in the first-floor pub, but we enjoyed both meals - nothing fancy but not bad either.

Dear Wendy,

Thank you for leaving your thought on our hotel. One of the many advantages of our prime location is that not only are we close to London’s top tourist attractions, but as we are tucked away on a quite road you can also enjoy a nice peaceful lie in without the hustle and bustle that these sites attract.
I am happy that you enjoyed your meals and I believe you might find interesting that we are now providing a new menu for our customers, where we have kept the pub favourites, but added some new exciting dishes as well.
We hope to see you again in the near future.
