I can thoroughly recommend doing a Great British Pub Crawl if you are visiting York. You’ll learn so much about the city (not just the pubs, though the two are so intertwined through history) and you’ll enjoy some great conversations in some fascinating and atmospheric pubs. Brilliant!

We did the York pub crawl with Charlie as our guide. He's a really likeable and well-informed young man and he made us feel at ease from the very start. We expected the pub crawl to show us a range interesting pubs and to reveal some of York's history, and it did not disappoint. But we were pleasantly surprised by what a nice social occasion it turned out to be. Rather than the passive experience of more typical tours, the pub crawl was more conversational and before long the whole group was chatting away like old friends. It also served as a great introduction to the city. We'll certainly do more of these in other towns and cities.

We took the Oxford pub crawl, visited many old pubs . Very interesting guide, very knowledgeable on all the history of the pubs visited. Would definitely recommend if you are visiting Oxford.
