Description: The restaurant offers a special selection of seafood as well as some original dishes based on traditional Bangladeshi cuisine, but the old favourites are still there too.Vegetarians are well catered for, all meat is halal and the bar offers an extensive wine list as well as alcohol free beer, lager and lassi.Seafood is a Laksha Bay speciality running throughout the menu and there are fresh sardines and many other interesting sounding dishes.

“Pretty good, especially the lamb chops!”
Reviewed 9 January 2014

The menu is fairly standard, although the dishes are prepared to a higher standard than average, with one in particular standing out...the lamb chops are some of the best in London and there is some stiff competition, especially a bit further East!

The lunch wraps (chicken or lamb tikka) are also reasonably priced, filling and very tasty, well worth a visit.

They lose a point as they seem to be shut far more than they should be (especially at weekends) and whilst every dish I've tried is tasty a couple haven't quite been perfect.

Overall I would definitely recommend a visit.

“Good food ,solid value”
Reviewed 8 December 2013

An impromptu visit on a Saturday night albeit to our local. Excellent menu ,reasonably priced and very well cooked. Spice guide in the menu is accurate in terms of heat. The only drawbacks are a relatively short wine list although similar pricing to most and lack of atmosphere when empty

“Not good this time”
Reviewed 19 October 2013

We had takeaway Katmandu chicken curry, we love hot n spicey, but this was just hot (only just) and didnt have much spice or ANY flavour. The chicken was so so dry it had a texture just like pork! Good to see there were 5 tables being used (3 or 4 more than usual) but still there was no atmosphere at all, which is why we dont dine here.

“Well worth the trip”
Reviewed 5 October 2013 via mobile

We were recommended this place by several friends and went not really knowing what to expect. We thought the service was extremely courteous, the food was excellent and freshly prepared. Prices were very reasonable too. Recommended.

“Gets better each time”
Reviewed 25 August 2013

Very good food and super friendly staff. The food has come a long way since they first opened. I would classify it as just okay when they first opened but now I think it is excellent. It is not your typical greasy curry house. Great tandoori chicken, naan bread, veg curry and other dishes. They are great with kids and will make something custom for them (my daughter can't take any spice). The restaurant is half full (or less) but that's what you get in Wapping -- most of their trade seems to be takeaway (judging by someone always on the phone) but the experience is worth eating in.
